"The Fish Works is a family run business run by husband and wife team Ross and Tiffany Irvin, both have worked in the food industry for over 40 years. Being Largs locals and working on the promenade daily, they had the idea of bringing to Largs, somewhere visitors and locals can come to enjoy fresh quality Scottish seafood in a relaxed environment with the best views of Firth of Clyde. We strive to plough all our knowledge and passion for quality into providing customers with great sustainably sourced ingredients cooked fresh made to order. We wanted to supply traditional haddock and chips in the lightest crispy batter but also twists on the traditional like fresh langoustine tails, calamari, seasonal fish from the day boats of Peterhead."

I popped in here on a blustery autumn day on a Sunday late afternoon. The service was quick and speedy at a counter. They have a few places to sit mostly outside though with a few inside. The decor is very nice. The menu is what you would want from a traditional fish bar. Prices are reasonable on current comparisons as the quality of the food is excellent. Total bill for the food and two bottles of water was £24. The portions were good enough for a dinner. I would recommend this place.
We were there on what must have been one of the busiest days of the year. The fish and chips were good but not as good as previously. Probably because of the huge throughput. It's a great place to sit and watch the ferry going in and out, as long as you can avoid the ravenous gulls. If you go down the wall a bit towards the sea, ironically it gets much quieter with less seagull action!
I’ve been here twice and both times have been absolutely excellent. The fish is fresh and delicious and the staff are always efficient and friendly - it seems like a good team. It’s in a prime location on the Largs seafront and you can sit on a bench nearby to eat. The only downside is that the seagulls are huge and always intimidating, but that’s not a reflection on the Fish Works at all!
Finally got round to trying this place after hearing such good things. Although tasty enough the fish was the smallest piece of haddock i have ever received especially as it was a fraction of the size of the customer in front of me. Definitely not worth a tenner and with hindsight wish I had asked for a refund and gone to one of their competitors
We Visited this place when waiting for the ferry and it was brilliant. It’s in a prime location on the Largs seafront and you can sit on a bench nearby to eat. the staff are also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. We had haddock and prawns and they were cooked to perfection. Chips were also very nice, big portions .
Spectacularly good fish and chips. The fish was so fresh and the batter was lovely and light and creamy. Haggis Fritters were delicious. 10/10Food: 5/5
Such a great fish and chips, not oily at all!! We had haddock and prawns and they were cooked to perfection. Chips were also very nice, big portions altogether and friendly staff. Reasonable prices as well. We had a lovely evening throwing rocks in the sea, lots of dead jellyfish on the beach, my kids were entertained! Ah! We also had ice cream and done a little walk on the promenade. Fabulous evening, relaxed and magic!
Had some great fish and chips from here! Definitely worth the drive down from Glasgow to eat and enjoy the view
Fresh fish and chips next to the beach. The biggest letdown was the batter on the fish, it's like a thick leather trenchcoat deeply submerged within oil encasing the fish. If you can get by that then the quality and prices are decent.
Battered King Prawns in batter x 6. A meal on it's own!! £6.50 Add chips Haddock and chips £8.50 Fritters x 4 £2.20 Great size portions. No tea served but can be bought at the adjacent unit for £1.50 to drink if you choose to sit at one of the tables in front of Fish Works . Yards away from the seafront...lots to watch.. I highly recommend The Fish Works.
