Story

In a delightful pastoral setting 2 miles from Ragley Hall & 6 miles from Stratford Upon Avon The Fish at Wixford enjoys an enviable position on the banks of the willow shrouded river Arrow.

Roaring log fires, real ales, jolly staff and a wealth of delicious locally sourced food
awaits you in our much loved country pub.

With huge riverside gardens and children's adventure play area we have something to offer all the family, plus we love dogs so no need to leave your best friend at home!

We visited on impulse recently during the day. It's a nice place to go. Quirky decor inside and plenty of green space outdoors including a play area. Staff were really friendly and the table service was prompt. Not a massive choice of food but the price for 3 courses was pretty good and the food quality is miles above a chain pub. The only complaint we had was that they burnt one of the desserts.
First time visit and I will be back next time I am staying in this area. Pate, 8oz burger with extra coleslaw and poached pear to finish. Pint of local brew for £16.20. I cannot remember when I had such good value food. Staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Well done the Fish.
What a lovely quirky place this is. Very brightly decorated. We were a party of 6 of which 4 were not completely satisfied with their meal and queried whether there had been a change of chef since their last visit, which proved to be true so I don't recommend the Fish Pie. This has been relayed back to manager via email and their response was acceptable. I had the roast of the day which I enjoyed and another member of the party had salmon which was also very nice. Staff were very busy and friendly. I would like to visit again when next in the area. Would I recommend this eatery? Yes but try for yourself there might be a change of chef!!
Popped in for lunch whilst out walking with a friend & his two dogs in the recent autumn sunshine, and we were delighted to discover that the bar staff could not have made us all feel more welcome. Water & treats provided for the dogs upon arrival & throughout the meal, attentive staff, a perfectly reasonable choice of lunch time courses, a good choice of drinks & a most pleasant & relaxed ambiance. Well worth a visit.
Spent a night in our motorhome and had dinner. Excellent, tasty, well balance three course meal for a very reasonable price. Good range of beers and ciders. Very attentive service and everyone made a huge fuss of Grace the dog. Definite stopover for future trips to this lovely area.
We just had a Sunday lunch for two here. Absolutely superb staff, the pub is lovely, the locals are friendly and we had a great time, even our little terrier was welcome. Hope the girl serving gets her bull terrier sounds great. See you all again, huge thank you for a great day
The food was amazing compliments to the chef, service was the same friendly people that work there first time eating there. The only gripe I had was that one of the servers drop a glass of wine by our table and it was not cleaned up straight away he continued to serve people, he then got a broom after 5 minutes to sweep up the glass but didn’t come back straight away and had to be asked by a colleague to mop up but his attitude was wrong when ask if there was a wet floor sign and he said that the floor wasn’t that wet and it’s wouldn’t be his problem when I said about it would be his problem if someone fell. I felt that customer safety wasn’t his priority at that time.
Quirky pub with unique decor serving good food, very well priced and tasty. We hadn't booked so sat in the main bar area and enjoyed starters and mains. Downside is that we haveen looking to visit for a longtime and now know it will be closing soon as landlord relinquishing the lease due to age. Big shame as worth a visit given beautiful location and food
Delicious food and good service. One of the best vegan food we had. The theme inside the restaurant was good with all social distancing norms in place. They have some special deals as well so better book before making a visit. Definitely planning to visit again soon.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Affordable prices. Very worried that it may not stay the same when the new owners take it over soon.Food: 5/5
