Pub itself is a nice location and staff are pleasant but food took far too long to arrive and was not up to a good standard. Shame as had been once before and was a good experience but has since lagged.
Somewhat disappointing, painfully slow service, was seated to eat facing a wall full of damp, mould and flaking plaster, no toilet paper in the toilet, in fact the toilet roll dispenser had been removed from the wall, the tap on the sink was permanently running, wasting water, couldn't be turned off, I reported this to a member of staff but they didn't seem the least bit interested. Staff kept bumping into our table and chairs during our meal as there was no clear pathway for them taking food to and from the tables outside, had to ask three times for our desserts to be brought over as we had obviously been forgotten about. The food itself was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The Manager was clearly out of her depth and everything seemed very unorganised on the day we visited which is a great shame as I have a lot of fond memories of this place, it is in a great location and has got potential to be so much better but you really need to get your act together.
Christmas day. So sorry to leave a bad review as never had a bad experience here in all the years we've been visiting. But Christmas Dinner is not your thing. The starter of pate was lovely. But the main was a complete disaster for all four of us. Deep fried roast potatoes where full of oil, never deep fry potatoes and pass off as a roast potato. The veg was all frozen, cold and undercooked. The turkey wasn't nice at all. And at £45 a person . I feel completely let down by you . I know it was Christmas day and you were all away from your family's to serve people. This is why I didn't complain on the day. On this occasion you got it so wrong .
Very enjoyable food which was cooked nicely alongside friendly staff. We happened to attend a weekend when they were a little busy, however we were one of the lucky ones who managed to get a seat without booking. I woukd recommend booking beforehand just in case to avoid any disappointment. If you are on holiday with a dog you can also take your dog in the pub which was a big advantage for us. Thank you.
Stopped off for some food off the usual A55 direct route..very pleasantly surprised, good menu, not the usual boring bar food menu. Great tasting sizzlers & good prices and plenty to eat. Excellent staff, polite and pleasant and human rather paid to be nice!...obviously very busy here in the hight of season good to see they still valued passing winter trade... Vegetarian options: Veggie options were tasty and noit the usual boring options...even if the first option was sold out a very tasty 2nd choice was enjoyed!
Enjoyed a lovely two course meal here today .. food was very tasty and cooked perfectly and very reasonably priced too. Pub itself was clean, warm and inviting. All staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be returning again..Well done Sam and all the team…many thanks..
Long wait for food, but lovely, hot and tasty when it arrived. Dan behind the bar was doing most of the work and went above and beyond his role to ensure that customers were happy. Would definitely benefit from more staff to improve the speed of the food.
The most horrible experience, I understand they are in the process of changing menus, the menu was limited which we where ok. We ordered 4 meals took over an hour, it was not busy only one other table. Staff stood there doing nothing and basically not bothered I feel it has gone to the dogs, i lived in the area for over 30 years previously I now live in Liverpool and come and visit my children, grandchildren. I spent many a lovely evening in the Ffrith. But i think as a brewery you need to look what is going on there. I will never eat there again, steak was just fat, Gammon was like rubber shoddy service
Had a lovely lunch with my sister and friend, service was great, the food was lovely, two of us had jacket potatoes, and the other had the lighter bites fish and chips, everything came out piping hot, the puddings were delicious to. Looking forward to going again very soon. Vegetarian options: My sister really enjoyed the vegetarian jacket potato, aubergine & chilli Parking: Plenty of parking spaces either side of the pub.
Booked a family meal here today at 12 which was the start of our holiday. It was a two hour journey and we was hungry and looking forward to lunch. When we arrived and I had said we had booked I was then told that they have made the decision to close the restaurant until 3pm and that they was sorry. I said it wasn’t good enough as I had booked and we have come for the start of our holiday and have two young children and no one had notified me of this. If someone had of contacted me, as that would of been the decent thing to do with any booking, to notify me of the kitchen being shut then I would of been fine and possibly returned another time with my family for a meal whilst on holiday but as I got no email or phone call or explanation when arrived, only I’m sorry when arriving I will most definitely not be returning. Luckily we found another place for lunch. Such a shame that the customer service was terrible. So a warning to anyone, I’d strongly advise ringing before you go to make sure they haven’t decided to shut the kitchen.
