Impromptu trip for afternoon food as I had seen the chips and they looked amazing. The food did not disappoint, for the price point the southern fried chicken wrap with chips was absolutely brilliant value and utterly delicious. Service was fantastic. Only complaint was the beer selection, only John Smith's on draft and none bottled. Food 9/10, Service, 10/10, Beer 6/10 Overall 8/10. Will definitely go back and try the pie! Parking: Ample parking outside as next to a row of shops at top of Fens estate.
Great food and good prices, the only thing that drops it a star for me is the lack of any real ale or beer selection, John Smiths or nowt unfortunately.
Food is delicious, all fresh home cooked meals, the service is second to none & it’s a very clean, friendly family pub. I go there all the time with family & friends. I would suggest you book your table in advance for Sunday lunch though as you may be disappointed & not get a table as it’s always very busy every Sunday but the Sunday lunches are absolutely beautiful, portion sizes are amazing with every meal too, the small portions are always more than enough for me…great place & I’d more than recommend The Fens for everyone.
Not the best ,heard good reports about it , It wasn't a good start as the wheelchair entrance is a piece of battered old board ! Also with double doors, I ordered steak & ale pie as you can see from the photo I never knew pies come in cups , with a piece of puff pastry on top , pub looks very tired, won't be back ,
I was one of a party of 16 people celebrating a 60th birthday who attended the fens pub last night for a meal, the food was pre ordered due to it being a large party, all meals were served together which was piping hot, food well presented and really tasty, staff were friendly and very attentive. Thank you all for a lovely evening x
Delicious lunchtime food- excellent idea serving a ‘slimmer’s menu’, it certainly was popular on this particular Friday! Great idea to give those watching their waistlines an option for eating out without the worry! Catered to my food intolerance perfectly! Even the babies loved the kids’ menu!
After visiting the nearby shops I called in for a pint , nice comfortable pub. Decent pint, good menu.
Good food, good excellent portions, good value.
Landlord and land lady wonderful friendly people great food and a family atmosphere
