Really lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and really comfortable. We had an amazing weekend away, thank you. One moan, trying to make myself gorgeous to go out in Suite 1 , was tricky because the lighting wasn't great. Really cosy and atmospheric, but no use to put your slap on x
We went to the Feathers for dinner on New Years day evening. Having eaten there before, I'd expected great things. One of my guests was refused entry into the restaurant due to the fact that she had a service dog guide dog for Epilepsy the duty manager refused to seat us as 'dog's were not allowed in the restaurant' Everybody knows the UK law is clear on service animals for the disabled and after much protest and a phone call to the general manager we were finally seated. The famous Gin bar was staffed by people who generally had no experience with how to serve the vast selection of beverages behind the bar. It was a bar with a wide selection of gin rather than a staff who knew how to serve them. The food was hit and miss. One of our starters Partridge was undercooked and raw in the middle we sent it back and the Octopus that I had was the most bizzare dish i''ve tasted in recent time. Satay Octopus? Give it a miss. The main courses were of a good quality as were the deserts. The service was understaffed and slow. Generally, it could have been much better. I wouldn't recommend it.
Absolutely delightful hotel in Superb location for Blenheim Palace. The Staff are excellent in everyway nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was delightful. Will definitely be returning to this Gem of Woodstock.Rooms: 5/5
The manager luke did not reply to my job email text when I asked him if it was ok if I wore a face mask to my job interview because I have a lung disease that was caused by covid 19. That is very degrading of him and shame on you luke. I hope you don’t develop a similar lung disease like mine because it is very life changing and stressful. People like Luke shouldn’t deserve to have jobs you shouldn’t treat or discriminate against people with health condition or anybody for that matter. I’ll be reporting this further this terrible treatment of the feathers!
Very disappointed that we had to pay £5 extra for 3 of the thinnest slivers of cheese ever presented for dessert at dinner. Decent rooms but pokey downstairs with a bar lacking in atmosphere.Rooms: 4/5
Lovely stay celebrating my birthday, Staff friendly and rooms very nice, only negative was they take external dinner bookings so make sure you prebook a table for dinner!Rooms: 5/5
Very warm welcome, staff very courteous and friendly. Menus could be a little more exciting. Very nice garden space to sit outside for drinks and or lunch. Overall an enjoyable stay and would recommend. Excellent receptionist. Rooms: We were fortunate, we were staying in Suite 4, very spacious and with air con. Stairs can be difficult, not for the infirm. Very clean and all ammeinities
We had dinner in the Churchill room to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was top quality with excellent presentation. Service was exemplary, attentive but allowing us plenty of time to chat. The room was large and airy on a warm evening, with good space between the tables keeping the noise levels down. Would highly recommend.
The staff are excellent and they couldn't have been more accommodating and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has plenty of character and quirky features resulting from years of transformation. It is decorated to a high standard that is complementary to it's age. Don't expect modern and boutique. What you get is nostalgic and a touch of heritage.
Very nice hotel in beautiful setting. Very uncomfortable though with small rooms and quite dated. Furniture quite tatty and not as clean as I would like. Overall it’s a character property and you do expect it to an extent, but I am perhaps more critical due to the bar and night porter. Bar closes very early with no exception and night porter is unbelievably rude.
