Parking is a bit of a squeeze but we did get a space although there is ample, easier parking at the library close by. We didn’t partake of the breakfast so cannot comment on that.nInitial receptionist Easter Sunday was okay but the receptionist on Easter Monday was friendly, informative and quite lovely which Sunday reception could maybe take a leaf from. The lad at the bar was very good too.nRoom was so airy, quiet and big so it was a shame to not have twin beds for our teens who are big and had to share a small sofa bed, in comparison mine and my husband’s bed was comfortable and huge, very nice but felt a bit guilty. Luckily there was a little window area so my youngest son took over that spot, pulling the net curtain to while my older son sat on the bed. Only two cups whereas four would have been better so boys could have a drink too.nBathroom is nice and big, two sinks, a lovely free standing bath and a walk-in shower.nHotel exterior is so stunning and location is absolutely fabulous. I will return.nWe only stayed one night but fit in a walk along the River Teme, Ludlow Castle, the markets, Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern Easter Sunday lunch and Bill’s Kitchen Easter Monday breakfast. I’ve written reviews on these too.
Title: A Magical Birthday Stay – Exceptional Staff, Stunning History & Perfect LocationnnMy stay at The Feathers Hotel & Restaurant was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. Believe it or not, the level of service and how they made us feel so special and cared for was far beyond any stately home, luxury hotel, or five-star property I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in many. You truly feel cared for like family or a close friend.nnThe hotel itself is extraordinary. Built in 1619 as the home of Rees Jones and converted into an inn in 1670, it is one of the most iconic Tudor/Jacobean buildings in the country. Its Grade I listed façade, carved with the Prince of Wales’s feathers, is instantly recognisable and full of character.nnThe location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Ludlow and only a short walk from Ludlow Castle, making it perfect for castle events, concerts, festivals, or exploring the historic town.nnWhile the building and its history are breathtaking, what truly makes a stay here unforgettable is the incredible team who run the hotel. Especially Taylor, who was exceptional, and Henry from the management team. Tallulah and Riley, our wonderful waiting staff, served us with our meals and made every dining experience truly fabulous. In truth, all the staff we interacted with were fantastic.nnThe food at The Feathers was exceptional throughout our stay. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and evening meals, and the choice and quality of everything was outstanding. The weekend afternoon entertainment created a fantastic atmosphere and added a wonderful extra touch to our stay.nnWhat touched me most were the extraordinary acts of kindness the team offered. These were not standard or expected, but personal gestures that made my birthday feel magical. I will treasure the memory forever.nnOur junior suite was beautiful, and the very large bathroom had both a wonderful bath and a separate double shower. The combination of superb accommodation, outstanding food, and incredible service made this stay unforgettable.nnI can confidently say the level of service here surpasses that of many luxury hotels and stately homes I’ve stayed in across the UK. Their kindness and standards inspires loyalty, with guests like ourselves then preferring to dine in-house, and ensures people return to enjoy their incredible ambience. Visiting this hotel makes you feel less like a guest and more like a welcomed friend, just as we did.nnWe are already booked to come back for our wedding anniversary, and I am speaking to family and friends to encourage many future visits, so they too can share the magical memories this hotel and wonderful location within Ludlow creates.nnThis shows the true power of kindness, it leaves guests wanting to return again and again, thanks to the incredible team who are the heart of this wonderful hotel.nnA stunning historic hotel, perfect location, exceptional staff, outstanding food, and unforgettable hospitality. The Feathers Hotel & Restaurant is a true gem. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Fantastic experience. Food was amazing, service first class. Couldn't ask for more, such a truly great hotel. Thanks very much for a great weekend
We always wanted to stay at least one night in the Feathers which we did recently, it did not disappoint.nReception was a little cayotic, cheque in times need updating various sources state 3.pm others 4.nPm.nOur room facing the street was on the small side, most of the wardrobe space being occupied by an ironing board and iron? Why? Nobody uses them these days.nWe had a lovely shower room and the bed was also very comfortable.nWe found all the staff to be very sociable and helpful, breakfast was very good cooked to order and also a good cold buffet was laid out.
This was our 3rd stay here and will continue to remain our go to hotel when stopping in the area. The staff are all wonderful. We have only ever stayed in the feature junior suites which are unbelievably spacious and very clean, I can only presume that other rooms are of an equally high standard. Food is very good and a fair price when you consider you are in a hotel. Breakfast has a great choice of menu items you can order on top of the continental options. When it comes to lunch/dinner, I will say that both my wife and I prefer the pre 6pm menu as opposed to the a la carte but this is simply down the fact that we tend like grabbing a bite to eat after a day out instead of making an 'event' out of dinner, again a great selection on either menu. There are limited parking spaces but we have never had an issue, the only time residents might struggle is if they return during peak food times when non residents are dining. Finally, I would like to point out that this place is dog friendly, it doesn't just say it is, it truly is. Our fur baby got more attention than we did !!! I mean this in a good way Thank you for another great stay and we WILL see you again
