Unbelievable. Desperately awaiting prescription so called and advised was 4th in queue. An hour later still on hold but at least now 1st in queue. ! No, I'm not - I'm now back to third in queue!! Expensive waste of time and never got to speak to anyone!!nRang the General Enquiries line and was told by female operator there was nothing she could do, but could put me through to try again. Exceptionally unhelpful.nIf its obvious your phone queuing system is going round in a loop, try rectifying it or at least flag it up to someone who has more interest than this operator.nKept trying all morning, eventually at almost 1pm i was going from 3rd to 1st in just over 20 mins better than the previous hour wait but then - I'm back at queue position 2!!!!nI nearly threw the phone trough the window!nIn desperation rang the Gen Enq line again, and thank goodness I got an opertator with more interest! She rang through to the dispensary on my behalf, and arranged for them to call me back within 5/10 mins to save me going through this whole rigmarole again.nWhy couldn't the original operator have done this though, to save all the frustration???nSome staff need to be applauded, their help is invaluable when you're at your lowest ebb, but others must consider why they decided to take this tole on.nThe staff from the Dispensary rang me as promised, extremely helpful, it was just the sheer frustration of trying to get through, but I'm very grateful to the staff who did help.
The medical practice is excellent, however the new AI Emma you speak to even clearly you try to tell it you're reason for calling it doesn't recognise it especially regarding needing to speak to dispensary team. I am 54 housebound through multiple Health conditions & Disabilities. I have used multiple AI Chat Box Systems with other companies for several years with no problems.nToday I called because Fakenham Pharmacy hadn't delivered my prescription & said that I needed to contact FMP dispensary team to ask why they hadn't realised my prescription. It took 3 attempts as it kept saying the wrong pharmacy. All of the calls lasted 15 minutes. I also have multiple medications it doesn't allow you to say that. At least with the old system you could select what department you wanted to leave a message to. I would rather be in a queue of 30 than go through that experience!nAnother time a Dr had given me a emergency prescription for antibiotics and there was a problem where the prescription was sent to. I tried using the AI Emma and got nowhere, as I didn't know the name of the antibiotic prescribed.nThis AI Emma needs to be correctly programmed or better still discarded & go back to the old system which is a lot more efficient.
As a care home, we rely heavily on strong partnerships with healthcare professionals, and Dr Smith at Fakenham Medical Practice has been exceptional. His approach is not only compassionate and thorough with our residents, but he is also incredibly supportive and respectful toward our staff.nnDr Smith takes the time to listen to our team, values their insight, and communicates in a way that makes everyone feel included and confident in the care being provided. He never hesitates to explain things clearly, answer questions, or offer guidance, which makes a huge difference in our day‑to‑day work.nHis visits are always calm, professional, and genuinely collaborative. You can see the trust he builds with both residents and staff, and it creates a real sense of reassurance throughout the home.nWe are truly grateful for the consistent, high‑quality care Dr Smith provides and for the positive working relationship he maintains with our team. He is an asset to our residents and to us as a care home. .... Woodspring house
Emma.nWe are going to be in the control of AI. Not a thought given for how this works for a elderly community here in and around Fakenham. Already older people are being left out . Not everyone is able to use and converse with a AI device Irrespective how the name sounds. Some find it scary I will send this copy to PPG if I can.nOther than this appointments to see GPs. At least 4 weeks for a face to face and 3-4 weeks for a telephone appointment! Pre COVID it was never this bad for waiting times.nIf it is a shortage of personnel surely the NHS can improve waiting times with good Doctors and extra staff.nUnfortunately, Receptionists do received abuse by phone and face to face, which is appalling, and Nurses, trying to help you and me but still, can receive abuse.nFinally, myself. Unfortunately I find it increasingly difficult to get help with my multiple and physical health and pain. No fault of my Dr, who can only do as much as possible, but I might not be alone with this.
Always seen to promptly with tests carried out quickly and thoroughly. Never have to wait long in the waiting room.nnAs for the diagnosis of the results however is where it gets a bit less than satisfactory. I was seen to for something as serious as my heart and it was clear the GP available was a bit out of their depth when it came to it on simple concepts. I am baffled to how a doctor is confused as to why an athlete has a lower resting heart rate as according to them it should be the opposite and an athlete should have a high resting heart rate and even corrected me in saying so and this spanned over a couple of meetings as they were still confused. I have friends with PHD’s and masters in exercise science and they frankly laughed when I told them what my doctor told me. It just makes it hard to take any advice and more so just wanting to hear if there was anything glaringly obviously wrong with my tests.nnIMO it seems to be more helpful to get your tests done and make sure there isn’t anything serious and take the results elsewhere or research on your own as you only get linked NHS web pages anyway.nnNot blaming the doctor as obviously it is a training issue and they aren’t a heart specialist and more a general GP. Experiences have still been pleasant.
