First time at this bar since moving to the area. It's upmarket and more pricey than the establishments in the surrounding area. Good vibe though. It was really busy so we ended up sitting outside. In summer it would have been awesome. Still I would recommend this place.
Great venue. The band harmonies and choices of songs was great. I was nervous about coming to a gig for the first time, having mobility needs, but I phoned and Stewart was so helpful, reserving a table and chairs for us both. The band were great and the venue a lovely intimate size. We all struggled hearing the bands announcements as the reverb still seemed to be on, but otherwise a great night.
We used to love coming to this venue on a Saturday morning and often for drinks on an evening too when it first reopened. I feel it’s gone downhill and I made my final visit yesterday. It is an ideal venue for parents of those attending dance school and we’d often go for a bite to eat and a drink, and for the first 12 months it was pretty decent, since though there has been some staff change over and it’s changed. 3 weeks in a row the kitchen has either been closed or not opening until late so there is no food. Last week was the excuse that they had a buffet to cater for so was focussing on that, and this week no explanation at all. If your menu states food served from 9am and you consistently don’t offer it I can’t rely on you for breakfast, so you won’t see us again.nAnd another thing, why is there no baby changing table, you have to change your baby on the toilet floor.
I like the place, however the gig was somewhat spoiled by people near the bar area who seemed more keen to talk rather than listen to the show. Other negatives were some women who lacked spatial awareness by bumping into me and others, without apology, through the effects of drink. This venue is not unique in these negatives, so it is what it is these days.nI do like the door staff who are very professional and courteous in their work.nIt's great that the venue as been preserved and refurbished as it has and I will continue to visit.nLindisfarne were excellent as ever and special mention has to go to Dave Hull-Denholm, who is the driving force of the band and very much keeping the sound and spirit of his father-in-law alive.
Not a brilliant experience to be honest. Tried 3 times to reserve a table but apparently you cannot reserve seating in te bar area. 1st thing i see when I eventually get in, 2 reserved tables. Because I wasn't familiar with the place ended up in a bar rather than the auditorium and seats all gone.
