I’m leaving a 5-star review because of the service Ewan provided even though I wasn’t even a patron of this hotel. I was planning a trip for my wife and I through Scotland and wanted to book two nights at The Eskbank; tried to do this through the website but didn’t get a confirmation so I emailed to investigate. One of the owners, Ewan, emailed back to say they were going to be on holiday and wouldn’t be able to accommodate us, but would do some digging for other B&Bs nearby. The next morning he sent another email saying he contacted Carolyn at Aaron Glen Guesthouse on my behalf to check availability, said they had a room available for us, and provided contact info while also promoting the merits of this other establishment. We ended up staying at Aaron Glen and it was as great as he advertised, so I wanted to make sure I noted publicly how helpful Ewan was even though he didn’t need to be. If this display of going above and beyond for good customer service is any indication, staying at The Eskbank Hotel would be a wonderful experience.
20plus stars they need. Wonderful people run this place. Greatest to stay in Scotland. Easy transportation. Everything leads to Edinburgh. Grocery store Morrison nearby. You'll meet many cultures here. French to Germany, Africa.nBreakfast is long lasting. You'll enjoy Ewan and his wife. Allow them to know your dietary needs. The garden is great. They have wonderful dogs.
Just finished a wonderful stay at Rathan House, our wonderful host was kind, entertaining, knowledgeable and amenable to dietary requirements.nThe rooms were comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delicious.nThank you so much for having us, we look forward to coming back and staying with you again.
Lovely Guest House. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. Our room was clean, comfortable and warm. The hosts who run this charming Guesthouse are friendly and chatty and happy to help. Our dog was more than welcome. Breakfast was a wonderful experience. Worth visiting just for the breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!!!
My deep thanks to Irenee and Euan. From here, I got done what I wanted. To have an authentic Scottish breakfast was marvelous. Note: the bus stand is just up the road two houses. Fantastically easy to get around without a car.
