What a hidden little gem and so near to home! The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very pleasant, cheerful and informative. As for the food, WOW! The presentation and the food wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin restaurant, it was that good! Will definitely be going back!!
We found The Durham Ox to be quite underwhelming. While the food was nicely presented, the flavours simply didn’t live up to expectations. It gives the appearance of a fine dining experience, but unfortunately, it doesn’t deliver on taste or overall quality. In our view, it’s very overrated and not worth the hype.
Food was absolutely fantastic. Definitely 1 of the best Sunday dinners I've had and the fish dish my partner had wouldn't have felt out of place in Cornwall. The staff were great too especially the woman who brought our food out
An excellent Sunday Lunch at the Durham Ox. Nice food, well presented and got us in at short notice. Created a good impression but can’t comment on rooms as we didn’t stay.
Overnight stay, room very tired and needs work but bed clean and comfy. No breakfast served here but plenty of options elsewhere. However, restaurant is amazing, chefs Ryan and Jade really know their stuff. Place was fully booked out, with parties being turned away. The rest of the crew here are happy smiley and so welcoming, would not hesitate to return. Thanks for a great stay x
