A Hidden Gem in MatlocknnA delightful pub in Matlock, just outside the centre, but well worth seeking out. The food steak and ale pie was incredible and home-cooked, featuring a fantastic selection of beers and a lovely log fire. The landlord and landlady were charming, eager to engage in conversation yet also respectful of our space. This is a pub I cannot recommend highly enough. I shall return for their fine beer.nnThree are not enough stars to do this pub justice.
Just got back from here, we have had one of the best steaks we've had in a long time, with a homemade peppercorn sauce, the dessert we chose was After Eight Cheesecake with whipped cream again absolutely beautiful food. It was our first visit, but we shall most definitely be back.
What a fantastic pub a proper local pub that serves some of the best pies in Derbyshire the mutton lamb pie was especially good. Food is served until about 7.45.They have a good selection of ales as well as your normal beers. The staff and management team are very friendly and will ensure you are served very quickly indeed. There's a dart board in the good sized bar but be aware because I think they may be very good dart players judging by the trophies that are on display. Dogs are very welcome in the bar area but not the lounge. I will definitely be going back.

We were out walking and just googled a pub near by with food! Great find, so friendly nothing too much trouble and the food was wow awsome home cooked food, delicious! My partner had mixed grill and i had fillet steak and it was definitely butcher/farmshop meat so fresh. Definitely recomend people pay a visit!
