I love the atmosphere in this pub as well as the back terrace. I ve had better roasts. They do hide a few gems in their menus. They have a bigger wine list than a wholesaler
Incredible roast! Have had so many mediocre ones over the years but this was amazing! The steak was delicious, definitely properly medium rare and everything was delicious. Will be back soon!
We had our wedding drinks reception and dinner here and absolutely loved it! All of the food, from the platters for sharing with a drink to the sit down dinner was delicious, the staff were so helpful and organised, and the location is perfect. Thank you to all the team, you made our day very special!
I have been back here over 3 times for Sunday roast. Always delicious and the staff are really friendly. Service can be a bit slow sometimes when busy but the staff are always polite and apologetic.
Came here with a friend on my visit to London and had the roast, on a Sunday hah! Highly recommend, it was tasty and enjoyable, with great service. Loved the vibes as well. Would come again if I lived there
Sadly, didn't enjoy the Sunday lunch at all. Was barely warm. Yorkshire was cold. Not much gravy. For me, meat was more blue than rare & was almost cold. For the price I expected the food to be hot. My partner's meal was cold. Out of 2 roast potatoes, 1 was hard to cut through. Wr didn't eat the beef, took it home for the dogs, they liked it! Wouldn't have it again. Was given a small discount, so took off service charge as well. Nothing to do with the service, staff were very friendly. It was due to how cold the food was ans we couldn't eat the meat.
Lovely pub with friendly service - super mussels, nice steak & ale pie, so-so pork ribeye, poor chips and really lovely little terrace
Came here for dinner with some friends and the food was excellent. Got an array of appetizers and all 4 of us had the steak - the stand out was some triple cooked potato side with an anchovy sauce holyyyy cow, it was incredible. Their menu seems to be ever-changing but all good choices, definitely worth a visit!
Had crab for starter followed by rump steak and then stout cake for desert. The crab and rump steak were fantastic, very enjoyable. The stout cake well, not great. Although this was first time having stout cake so could have been brilliant. Nice atmosphere and decent service.
Booked the private room upstairs for around 20 guests for a Christmas lunch. I'm vegetarian and the menu had only one vegetarian option which consisted of just broccoli and green beans in a turmeric sauce compared to my friends who received a full Christmas roast. When I asked the waitress if there was anything else the chef could offer, she was incredibly rude telling me she would happily eat the broccoli and that we should have booked on another week when the menu was different without acknowledging it's hard to book the private room. She then said I shouldn't have come at all because they're meat-heavy! It's 2022 - a token vegetarian offer at any pub doesn't cut it these days and rudeness on top of that is ridiculous.
