Absolutely cannot fault the service, food and personal touch which we received yesterday for Mothers Day. Such kindest & excellent attention to detail from the staff. Two mums out treating ourselves, we were looked after in every way. Even given a plant each to take home. Well done! Wouldn’t hesitate to return again. All the best Alison & Judy xx
My local since moving back into the village in 2019. Excellent range of beers including alcohol free if you must. Good variety of menus and always made very welcome.
Do not trust this place with dietary requirements. A shame as the food was lovely. However, we asked for gluten and dairy free meals, for a starter we were told the Pate was safe. It arrives with 2 slices of bread and a chunk of butter. We point it out and the waitress says "Ohh yes don't eat your bread". We had two sisters in our company who are incredibly gluten intolerant, one will have seizures and the other will end up in hospital with one or more throat abscesses. After the starter we double checked for the main courses. I think triple checked as I went and asked another waitress just to be sure. I assume she checked with the same chef as the answer was "yes" their meals were safe. One main course arrives with a Yorkshire pudding placed straight on top and I think we learned the stuffing had gluten in it too. At first the original waitress wanted to take the plate to "remove the Yorkshire" we expressed the importance of no gluten and she took it away saying "Ohh don't worry, I understand" in a rather flippant/irritated tone. She returned with a cut down meal with no stuffing or Yorkshire pudding. The other main, the sea bass, arrived with some sauce that we didn't know whether to trust. Time will tell on that one. A real shame as a nice location and my was lovely.
Quaint village pub with excellent food and service. Had Sunday lunch great choice, food was nice and hot. Lovely atmosphere.
Very overrated food from the reviews with all the group not aiming to be back. There has to be better places to eat in the area! Nice descriptive menus with few fancy wording in places, so if your expectations for your money are not so great then maybe it’s for you, like some if the reviewers. Don’t bother complaining either as they believe the food and service are good…
Visited for an evening meal and we were very impressed with all 3 courses. The food was excellent quality and very hot. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We will definitely return.
Amazing steak cooked to your liking, hard thing to find these days. Lovely helpfull staff. Warm and cosy.
Superb food, lovely staff/owners. Lovely country pub. Highly recommend.
Very disappointed with Christmas lunch, my family of 10 arrived for lunch and to start with the starters were cold soup had to return to the kitchen, the main meal arrived and not a lot of it with very minimal veggies not half enough for 10 people. For saying the whole bill came to approx £ 1000 this was no we’re near acceptable!! Shall not be returning
Really nice food and lovely little pub
