A decent atmosphere in a busy pub. Food was tasty and quick but naan bread was overcooked being crunchy on the edges. The flaming dragon curry definitely flamed and was both spicy and tasty. Coffee has changed since the last time I was there and is now free refill all day at a decent price. Beer didn't quite seem at its best but was still good.

When this first opened it was a good pub. Cheapest beer in town, outside smoking heaters, regular beer barrel changes, good standard of food. Since the competition has been illuminated, standards have gone, beer prices hiked (it's more expensive than The Potter's Wheel in Swansea, a city!), no outside smoking heaters, beer barrels not changed for days, poor food standards (cold beans and hard fried eggs for breakfast), and check your change. Poorly managed with a very drab atmosphere. Ok if you're waiting for a train to kill time with a cheap pint. Very average.

Very helpful staff, especially Dawn! She constantly offers exceptional customer service. Clean and tidy in all areas, and the food is very good. My only complaint is that the water temperature from the taps in the gents toilets is extremely hot, and almost unbearable. Still in my top 3 of all Wetherspoon pubs in South and West Wales.

We had a nice meal and a few wines this evening at The David Protheroe. We enjoyed the evening , staff friendly and food was good.
