Never stayed here . But the Sunday carvery is as good as it gets . Big portions of well cooked meats . 6 or 7 types of veg . 3 flavours of gravy . 1st class and only £12.95 .Hotel highlightsGreat value
The Thai food was excellent..well cooked and nicely spiced. Good value for money. The service is very friendly. The food is 5 star but the surroundings are tired and dated and in need of some real tlc.
The pub was dirty, old and sticky. There is no way to dress it up or down. We stayed because it was late and the Thai food was meant to be incredible - which I have to say was good. We did ask for one rice to be redone as it resembles rice pudding for all the wrong reason and we couldn't have offended the chef more if we had tried. We paid and left needless to say she didn't charge for the overdone stodge even though we did say we would pay. Wouldn't go again. If the pub itself doesn't bother you - then go - the food is good- but the rest let it down hugely. I read that it had been refurbished 4 years ago - I very much doubt this to be factual - 80's sticky carpet throw back!
We went for food and it was great the Thai food we had was top notch. Friendly and pleasant staff. We are going to make it a regular especially for the foodRooms: 5/5

I didn't actually stay in the hotel I parked my motor home in their car park overnight! I received a very warm welcome as did my dog Jack! I sampled both their beer & some of their delicious Thai food both were excellent! I will definitely call in again when I'm passing through!
My group had a great lunch on the 1st May 2022 Excellent host in Mike and his staff Great carvery with ample portion of meats with excellent choice of vegetables all wonderfully cooked. Real Ale in Tip Top condition Wonderful selection of sweets including some traditional English ones. Would I return with my group. YES without fail.
Stopped off for Sunday lunch, very friendly staff food was good the roast beef was excellent. I have no problem recommending them.Service: 4/5
