We held a wake here after a funeral at the nearby Mintlyn Crematorium. Every was perfect for us. The food was very good - including real bread sandwiches, coffee & tea "on tap" and cake. The facility gave us privacy with easy access to the bar. The food and drink were ready upon our arrival. We were pleasantly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you for providing the perfect place and atmosphere for us to sit, chat and recall days gone by.
Went for evening with my bowls club. Nice atmosphere in pub and seems popular. I’m afraid the meal wasn’t that great, a carvery, it seems about average these days for pub food. The staff were friendly and service was good. I suggest looking at menus on line before booking.
Two of us had an early dinner at 6pm. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately service was not a good experience. When I went in both visible members of staff behind the bar turned and walked to opposite end. We were sat in the restaurant, which had to have lights and heat turned on for us, even though we'd booked. Given menu. Had to ask for vegetarian menu. Asked two questions about menu, both had to be referred to another member of staff. Staff not aware of bitters on tap, not sure flavour of soup of the day, didn't know what vegetarian option came with as it "isn't popular, we never sell it". Went to loo, to find it was pitch black and couldn't find light switch. Had to chase drink order. Food came, and was unbelievably delicious. We had pudding, again food was fantastic, but my second coffee didn't turn up until I had paid the bill, put my coat on, and asked if I'd been charged, apparently I had, so drank it in my coat. Really hope the crew were on their first night, and they improve with a bit of experience as it was a lovely meal and we'd definitely go back. Really recommend but take a torch for the loo!
Very welcoming and friendly bar staff, who were very attentive. First class service. Great Ale, and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you.
Back to basics with a simple but tasty home cooked pub menu! If you’re after fine dining then this isn’t the place for you but if you’re looking for a yummy meal with friendly staff, doggy friendly and very well kept beer then this is the place!
Nice bar man, a bit cold in the backrooms but we moved to the fire later on, beer selection OK. Limited food for vegetarians or vegans

My 10yo son and I stayed here last week on a four day bike ride to Norfolk. This was our third night, and our third night of accommodation booked. This establishment was head and shoulders the best. The staff were super-helpful and really nice. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and little things like offering fresh milk in the rooms is both a nice touch and environmentally good too. We had dinner in the bar and that was great and well-priced too. The breakfast was perfect!
Enjoyed a good mean and drinks in this dog friendly pub. Seemed like well used by locals as well which is always a plus. Food & drinks: Well presented and reasonable.
