Stopped by the Crown today after cycling for a bit. Had a great time there with a lovely pint and good food by the river. Will definitely be coming back. Only downside was the long queue to the bar, but once I ordered the food was prepared super fast!Food: 5/5
Food was nice but felt a bit overpriced £40 for 2 burgers and 2 lemonades. One meal had the side salad missing, however the staff were very accommodating and soon got it when we asked. The website promises a voucher for £10 off when you sign up which sounded great at first... however the website failed to mention the code can only be used a minimum of 6 hours after you received it, meaning you can't actually use it there and then... overall the whole "offer" felt quite misleading. Vegetarian options: A couple of vegetarian options, vegan burger was nice.
Such a lovely pub by the Canal. Had the adults roast beef which was nice and ordered a children's turkey which was lovely. The woman who served us - Kirsty couldn't do enough. She sat us by the door and checked if we wanted it open or closed. Let my daughter type in her own food in and checked on us often added a stuffing on my daughters plate because she loves them. Relaxing atmosphere and nothing was too much. We will back back for sure.
We live in the area and The Crown is our favourite for a pint around here. We love the vibe, the fireplaces, the lovely garden by the canal. Today we had a great fish and chips here, cooked to perfection. It exceeded our expectations, compliments to the chef! Keep up the good work! The team is very friendly and attentive, doing a great job. Our food was served quickly and it was hot and delicious. We will be returning soon.
They are never normally a favourite part for me but the roasted carrots were delicious, I’ll come back for them alone! Definitely one of the best pub roasts dinners I’ve had! Crumble was yum too! Also was provided with a dog blanket and water bowl so my dog was happy too. Looking forward to coming backFood: 5/5
Beautiful pub garden by the river, with nice cocktails/mocktails, and tasty food Vegetarian options: Great that there were veggie and vegan options
Pretty decent food, honestly priced, but an unacceptable long wait of an hour for a blue sirloin steak and a burger.Food: 4/5
We visited on Sunday 2023-08-06 early afternoon ~2pm, staff was very friendly and the environment was nice right by the river. However I did not enjoy the atmosphere as much because the singing performance and music were a bit loud, not very in-keeping with the surrounding in my opinion. We had a Sunday roast and a fish & chips, both were executed quite poorly. My roasted pork belly was rather dry and tough, the cracking tasted like chemicals, while the broccoli and carrots were over boiled to a rather mushy state. Besides, the menu said the roast would come with apple sauce but I got a chunk of funny tasting roasted apple instead. The batter on the fish was also soggy and floury/ uncooked. I would not recommend going there for food because what I had was very disappointing, perhaps just get a pint to enjoy the view of the river.
Popped in for lunch post renovation. In short excellent food, service and general setup. Lovely spot right by the canals will ample outside seating imagine it gets quite full in summer. Food wise we had fish and chips and salmon - both excellent. Service also very attentive so zero complaints : We also had our 2 yr old who was also we catered for with a decent kids menu. Will be back for sure. 5 stars.
Wonderful lunch for my parent's 59th anniversary. The food was delicious, the set menu was incredibly good value. We loved everything we tried. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. I can't fault them. Parking was easy too. Dad doesn't walk well but we parked close to the entrance and there was even a lift to get down some steps inside so we could sit overlooking the river. We will be back for sure.
