Staying in Peebles for the week, we dined at The Crown several times. Their food is delicious and beautifully presented. An absolute must if you're looking for a great home-cooked meal. Super friendly staff.
Ive never had a bad meal here, everything always tastes fresh, we invited family today and recommended here for a spot of lunch and even they were impressed.nIt was very busy so a booking is recommended at weekends
The Crown Hotel is a superb pub, restaurant and hotel serving great food. I highly recommend the chicken and hot honey burger which was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted, and all of the food I observed being served was of a very high standard. If you're in the area and looking for a good place to grab something to eat, The Crown Hotel should be on your list.
A Peebles pub famed for once being frequented by legendary boozehound Oliver Reed, this beautiful place on the pretty town's High Street does a fine pit of Guinness and some awesome food.nnTwo courses, everything homemade. My haggis scotch egg was wonderful, Mum's chicken liver parfait the best we've tasted. My gammon steak main was gorgeous, but her lamb shoulder shepherds pie was 'to die for'.nnAny pub good enough for Bill Sikes/Proximo fae Gladiator is good enough for me, but add flawless food and tip top service and we have a very special place.
Menu had a good selection of classic pub-style dishes and the food itself was tasty and well-prepared. Fish and chips was maybe slightly disappointing due to being quite soggy, and the thicker hand-cut chips were very dark brown, but those were the only faults in an otherwise lovely meal.
