Great food and good selection of beers. We had fish and chips and cajun chicken burger for mains and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - all were lovely. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. Only minor thing is that the pub does smell quite smokey due to the traditional fireplace, which did linger on our clothes a bit.
Return visit as last occasion food was excellent. No so this time, roast tatties and veg were 'warm' on both plates so asked for them to be heated-up. 5 mins later food reappeared and although we didn't complain again food wasn't really hot? 1 Min in the microwave would have done the job. The fruit compot had cinnamon in it and my wife is allergic to it - waitress thought the menu said it contains cinnamon but it didn't. Really disappointed as the last time it was great. Normal chef was on holiday and someone? Was Helping out in the kitchen.
Great accommodation, rooms clean, light & airy. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice food, breakfast very tasty. I would stay here again and recommend.Rooms: 5/5
We had a reservation today but we had to leave straight away since the whole pub was full of smoke inside making it impossible to breath. The owner said to us “it will settle down” but anyone who owns a fireplace knows that this is not a normal usage and that something is wrong. Health hazard.
A dog friendly establishment. The host who, I presume, was the landlord, skillfully managed his staff and made for a busy but effective service. We had evening meal and were courteously and warmly greeted and shown our table. We were served promptly and the food was very good. You will need to book on Friday evenings I think. I'd go back again. The local ale was very good and the wine excellent.
We arrived at this renowned, historic inn for dinner without a reservation. It was fairly busy with a mix of locals and visitors. The manager immediately found a really nice table for us. The food, for the price was very good, the service excellent and the vibe friendly and welcoming. If I stayed in this lovely town, I'd definitely become a regular. Super place which I will be going back to.
Have visited twice while on holiday with friends. There are six of us and we have enjoyed brilliant food on both occasions. All the staff have been very friendly and efficient. The waitress from Tullibody scored a ten when dealing with one of our group making a strange request for desert - Sticky Toffee Pudding with MILK. Most impressed when she asked how the milk was! Well done!!! Great atmosphere and only an hour away from home. We may even be back. Thank you to all The Cross Keys.
Seemed a quaint and pleasant little inn. It is situated in an equally quaint and pretty little village in the beautiful Trossachs. Staff were friendly. I didnt lodge there but just stopped for refreshments that me and my friend enjoyed in their garden Unfortunately my visit was let down by the fact there was a leak in the toilet. I hadn't noticed and my shorts got soaked on one leg. It looked like it was coming from the cistern but the pub was near empty and I thought they would surely be aware of the issue and had time to attend it. It wasn't the end of the world but it was uncomfortable. The barman then did attend to it immediately though. 5 stars would need it to be exceptional.
Didn't stay but plan to and it's fast becoming our favourite lunch stop. It's a picture postcard Scottish country pub which is the kind of place you think doesn't really exist. Really nice food, a great setting and good beer.Service: 5/5
Situated in a very nice little village, lady serving was very helpful beer was good, didn't eat or stay so can't comment on that. If you passing it'd be rude not to pop in . Remember use it or all these nice traditional places will all be gone before you know it Service: 4/5
