We have been here a few times and the food and service never disappoints. The menu has a creative flair and changes with the seasons so there is always something new to discover. I had the parsnip and pear soup which was delicious followed by the lamb of shoulder which was melt-in-the-mouth amazing. My boyfriend had the steak, ale and mushroom pie which was very tasty. The staff are always attentive and welcoming and the interior is a combination of cosy, country and modern. This has quickly become our favourite place to eat and we look forward to our next visit.
Never been here before, but nice warm welcome, very clean and tidy, cosy, old but new as well! Good looking menu and Christmas options, we enjoyed a goats cheese and fig brûlée starter, my wife had delicious tortelliniand I mean delicious and I had the rich and tasty venison pie. Service was spot on..friendly, informative and quick. Great place to eat, thoroughly enjoyed it.
All the food we ordered was superb. Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time, and the staff were really friendly. We'll be definitely visiting again and would recommend.
Chilly Thursday in mid-February. Warm and welcoming indoors. Lucky enough to get a table by the log burner. Excellent starters, mains and desserts menu; also a Lite Bites selection available until 5pm. Staff friendly and efficient.
I've been coming to The Cricketers for years. It remains one of my favourite pubs to visit. Great atmosphere, great food, and great folks making it all come together. Just celebrated a birthday there and couldn't be happier at the lovely experience of being in the pub.
Lovely pub/restaurant more of a restaurant with fires, lovely outside terrace, always had a good meal & friendly staff. Great sign when it's always busy on a Sunday!! I'm sure there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor... but I've only ever seen the toilets upstairs. I'd recommend checking if needed. Dogs also welcome in bar area and outside.
Early dinner. 3 adults and 2 children. Staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure 2 little boys were well catered for and happy. Food was really good as was the service. Perfect place.
Visited on Sunday at 7pm with my partner and two elderly friends. My friends ordered the roast pork, it was lovely as always. My partner ordered the fried squid starter, cooked perfectly, we both ordered the haddock and chips main. The batter was crisp, the fish tasted really fresh. We have eaten here many times and it has always been excellent.
After a lovely meal with a friend, I accidentally left my handbag under the table in the pub. I drove 20 miles home before realising and called in a panic. When I arrived back, my bag was safely behind the bar with everythingin tact. A huge thank you to whomever handed it in, and to the staff for their kindness, amazing food and service.
It was packed because of Mother's Day but we were served quickly and efficiently. Food was delicious and hot. Very impressed.
