My husband brought me here for a surprise birthday present. Wow! What a lovely quirky hotel. I was in complete shock.nThis is not something we could afford regularly, but wow, it was nice to be posh for a day.n12 plate Thai meal was amazing! Staff were friendly and on the ball.nWould definitely recommend this place to anyone. We've never stayed anywhere like it. Absolutely stunning.nMy only complaint was that there was some tobacco and rizla on the tiles under the bath. We don't smoke. So this just lead me to believe that the tiles weren't mopped from the day before. Also the tap in the ceiling dripped all night. But other than that, it was perfect. I certainly haven't let it change my rating.
Spend the night here for my partner’s birthday and we had a great time I couldn't sing their praises enough!! We stayed in one of the decadent rooms and The room was quirky and over the top in true fabulous crazy bear style and not to mention a great size. We had cocktails in the bar which were delicious and the service very attentive and friendly. We also had dinner in their Thai restaurant which was lovely. I have nothing negative to say about our stay. Annabelle on the front desk was really helpful and friendly. We would definitely return and couldn’t recommend enough x
Came for a birthday treat. We were surprised the room was across the street, but can cope with that. The room was very very dark but we did kind of expect it. The issue we had was the price versus what you get and compared to other hotels at same price point. Our room was fairly small, had cobwebs in the bathroom and toilet. The toilet was missing a part of the flush button. There was confetti still hanging on the bed board and floor from a previous guest. The tele was very unresponsive and was missing the back of the remote. Our room was near the front door and was very noisy when other guests coming and going. These little touches vs cost just tipped the balance to slight disappointment.nnThe bar was very nice. The guy serving in the bar was very attentive and provided very good service the type of service you expect for the price.nnThe Thai restaurant was nice. But very cramped. Difficult to have own conversations when wedged in, did not feel luxurious. Food was good highlights are soup, noodles and Thai curry from tasting menu.nnOverall was an okay stay but for price paid cannot help but feel a little disappointed.
Quirky and Memorable Stay with Room for ImprovementnnWe stayed at The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield for one night. It was certainly a memorable experience — quirky, atmospheric and full of character — though there were a few areas that could be improved.nnOn arrival, check-in was smooth and we were shown to our room. The décor is dark, dramatic and definitely unique! Unfortunately, we had issues with the lighting not working properly and a broken window pane. However, reception responded quickly and professionally — they came straight to the room, were very apologetic and moved us to another room without hesitation, which we really appreciated.nnThe beds were very comfortable and the towels were fluffy. The room was generally clean but there were some dusty corners and maintenance issues, and with the abundance of heavy velvet drapes and walls along with very dark lighting, it did make us wonder how regularly those are deep cleaned.nnA big shout-out to Charlie at the bar and Annabelle on reception — both were absolutely lovely, friendly and a real credit to the hotel. Their service stood out and made a big difference to our stay.nnWe thoroughly enjoyed the Thai food in the evening and the continental breakfast was also good.nnOverall, an enjoyable stay with lots of personality and with a bit more attention to detail, it could be even better.
Amazing night away!!nnTook my partner here for his birthday and it was perfect. The room was so nice, clean and the bath was the perfect temperature!nShower room was huge and once again spotless.nnWe had food at the english restraunt and the host was absolutely lovely - his service was impeccable and the food was also brilliant too.nnBreakfast was really nice with good service too.nnLoved it so much we will be booking again for December!!nnhighly reccomend : xx
