If you like banter with your pie this is the place to go. Robbie has his own unique hosting style which adds to the experience. Great food and chat for the string of character.
They only do pies but they do them well. I had a steak and blue cheese pie with chips, mushy peas and gravy and couple of pints and have to say it was great wee dinner. Good prices, friendly staff and a decent selection of beers and whisky too
Visited 3 times during the week we stayed in Grantown.Exceptional welcome each time .The last night we had booked to eat ,there's only pies on the menu! But wow what great choice,and all 4 of us agreed the taste of each pie fantastic.Robbie the landlord is a character don't take offence and join in with the banter. There's also an outstanding collection of Malt Whiskey to try.
Pies, ales, whiskey and a show Robbie and his mother keep this place running like a well oiled machine. Be prepared for a compliment of tasty pies, a warm welcome and some cringe- worthy conversation courtesy of the host. A definite must in the area. Great food at reasonable prices.
A thoroughly enjoyable, if slightly odd evening. The pies were great, nicely cooked and tasty, the chips were a little plain but crisp, the mushy peas just mushy peas and the gravy nice and tasty but probably bisto. It may sound that it didn't think much of the food but I really enjoyed it all. The price tag, at £8.95 for pie and chips is great. To cap it off the host, and his mum were a true comedy double act, slightly fringe comedy, but funny. Give the place a go!
They are a cash only, Pounds only! We spent two nights in Grantown and walked over to The Craig both nights. The first night we had their delicious pies and chips. The second night we went to try more local whiskys after dinner. We met a lot of really nice locals and tourist.
Epic bar! We had a fabulous and entertaining evening there. The pies were delicious, and the owner Robbie is amazing fluently speaking Italian. 100% recommendation.
A wonderful place and pies were fantastic. Beryl, the owner was a joy to talk to and helped me get a bus to Inverness the next morning
Infamous pub in grantown on spey. Probably the must see attraction of the time. Lovely little pub with amazing pies, decent beers and a large selection of whisky. And to top it all off is the owner, who is certainly quirky to say the least and an amazing comedy act to break up your evening. Definitely go.
