We have been here a few times and always had great food. However on this occasion the service was very poor and although we had booked in advance it was an hour before our table was available. You don't mind a few minutes but an hour is pushing it. They should really have no bookings and get tables only when available service. I do appreciate Sunday is probably their busiest time. But if you've booked you've booked.

Excellent food lovely cider great staff. I've never had a better Sunday dinner unless I've cooked it myself !!!! I go there when ever I can. It's absolutely lovely

Carvery is truly excellent.  A la carte is varied and its menu, which changes monthly, is designed to take allowance of all tastes.  Given the very, very high standard of food it is not at all expensive.  The owners, Amy and James, have a knack of hiring very competent, able and friendly staff who will make you feel welcome and at home straight away.  The proof of the pudding is in the eating so get eating.

Great roasts. Cosy and yet with plenty of space. Loads of parking. Historic building and a rural setting.
