ATTN: review is of restaurant only, I did not say at this hotel. 

Went here when visiting the family for the holidays (6 of us total). They had a special holiday menu so Im not sure how good the place is on the regular day to day. Four of the people at the table ordered the turkey dinner from the holiday menu, they all enjoyed it. Not a very large wine selection but the options they have are very good. I had a shrimp and lobster app and had the seabass main course. Both were good. The sauce on the appetizer was very heavy so I didn't eat much of it but the food was good. It was the first I have ever had a seabass dish prepared that way. The skin on made me think of salmon but it was flavourful and melted right off the skin. Don't sit too close to that huge fireplace, the heat from that is no joke! All in all, good meal

Beautiful setting overlooking the Clyde. Cosy feeling, log fire and big armchairs and nice coffee. Serving from early morning onwards. Will certainly return. Thank to all the staff x

I WAS AT THE COMMODORE TODAY WITH MY HUSBAND AND TWO FRIENDS WE HAVE BEEN AT THE COMMODORE MANY MANY TIMES WE ARE LOCAL SO WE BOOKED A TABLE  AND ARRIVED ON TIME FOR OUR CHRISTMAS LUNCH BUT IF YOU DONT BOOK CHRISTMAS. LUNCH YOU DONT GET A CHRISTMAS LUNCH  SO WE HAD A NORMAL LUNCH THE THREE OF US HAD THE NEW MENU AND WE HAD HUNTERS CHICKEN WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL IT WAS WARM AND NOT VERY TASTY MY FRIENDS MEAL WAS COLD  WE LEFT AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR OUR CHRISTMAS PUDDING AND COFFEE WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED  AS LOYAL CUSTOMERS WE WILL TRY AGAIN  BECAUSE THE STAFF ARE REALLY NICE AND FRIENDLY  .
