ZERO!!! Absolutely disgraceful!!!! Had been here a few months ago and the coffee was pretty good but there was a lot of smoke coming from the kitchen, i thought this was a once off. They had a large breakfast and a small breakfast both with eggs advertised. I asked for the small breakfast with scrambled eggs and was told it was extra, i said ok, again the asian lady said it was extra, i said ok again and paid the extra. When i received the eggs the plate was flooded with water so i had to soak it up with tissues, i thought this was a once off also so didn’t complain. Feeling like another coffee this week i decided to go back, this time i got a coffee, a muffin, and decided to order the just scrambled eggs as i seen they had it now listed. I picked up the last muffin, and waited for the coffee and took my seat. Again the place was filled with smoke. When i sat down i took some coffee, which wasn’t as good as before, and my eyes started to burn with the smoke, and, the muffin was not fresh. Eventually when the scrambled eggs came i was half way through the coffee and had my laptop open. The asian guy put the plate right up to my face as in nearly touching my forehead, i pointed to a clear place on the table, but he nudged the plate at me so i just smiled and took it out of his hands. He then said, you want butter, it’s over there and pointed back at the counter. I then noticed that the scrambled eggs was again flooded with water, this time soaking the toast to a soggy sponge which i cut off. See attached photo. When i left the place and sat into my car, i then really got the intense smell of my clothes as a result of the smokey kitchen, it was terrible. I am not racist whatsoever, but they did have a guy there a while ago non-asian, whom made a fantastic coffee, the place appears to be dominated by inexperienced staff now mostly asian, although they try to be nice, they really haven’t got a clue in my opinion and are obviously thrown in at the deep end, bit faulty towers. The place needs a real management overhaul and has the opportunity to be a really good place under the correct staffing and management.
Nice and cosy cafe.Good options for coffee and desserts,although vegan options are not much.Peanut butter cup and carrot cake are good bets with a ice blended latte or a flat white!
The staff are not experienced enough. Table had not been properly cleaned down. In the Middle of a Pandemic! Some croissants etc still out on the counter. It is a nice coffee shop with a little care it could be much better! The owner never seems to be around. You cannot leave two inexperienced staff around. You need a very good Manger in charge. Tables must be sanitised after use.
Good coffee and carrot cake on my first visit here. Lovely interior as well. A nice addition to Terenure village.
Have had coffee here a few times and it was grand, nice decor and relaxed atmosphere. However decided to go for breakfast with two friends this morning. It was absolutely shocking, firstly we had to clear our own tables as did several customers that came in behind us. The irish breakfast arrived cold, we sent it back for a few zaps in the microwave!.. much to the dismay of our waitress. There appeared to be chaos behind the counter with no obvious manager or team leader. The coffee was still good though to be fair but we won't be returning anytime soon.
Unsurprising to see all the bad reviews of the staff. The coffee is fine but there are many coffee shops. I have experienced odd hostile behavior from the staff in here while just getting a takeaway coffee. How do you manage to make a bad impression in the time it takes to make a coffee?I wouldn't recommend and wont be returning.
My friend drinks coffee.l don't drink tea or coffee..So l asked for a cup of boiling water.. something l usually have when meeting friends in a coffee shop..the girl tried to give me a glass of water..I explained l wanted it in a cup..l have no problem paying for it. I just wanted to feel like l was having a warm drink.. after much hastle she eventually gave me a cup with no saucer..and seemed like it was to much trouble..not all customers drink tea and coffee...but my friend do, so lm stuck in a delema.. Usually when l visit other establishments . This is not a problem..my friend commented that we definitely would not be returning...
Ive been meaning to write this for some time!! Last week was the final straw! The small Greek I think guy you have working there is absolutely terrible, he is very unfriendly, not at all approachable and he always has an angry look on his face! Last week myself and girls were in there and we were only discussing how rude he is! We all had the same opinion! We all walke in there today and saw he was working and we all just left to another cafe! You really need to take him aside and teach him basic customer service! I feel this is not the job for him, dealing with the public is something which seems to upset him! I did ask him could I speak to the manager on duty which he replied was him, then I asked for the owner to which he replied he is not here and I don’t know when he will be here, to my horror he then walked off! Shocking behaviour! We all do love your cafe but could you just have a word to him about his customer service skills. Many Thanks
Coffee and food is pretty average hot chocolate is powdered, scrambled eggs are watery but the environment is lovely. Very cosy and convenient. Great classic rock music. Great for babies and kids - nice changing room, plenty of high chairs and space.
Just had a nice large breakfast with their usual great coffee; about a third of the tables removed so customers are not sitting too close together, and staff cleaning surfaces all the time. Will be back next week, if cafes are still open.
