SECOND VISIT 09/04/22. Yep, just as good as our first visit. Food was excellent, service also excellent. See you again in 3 weeks, when we return for a third visit to Telford and the International Centre. FIRST VISIT: 27/03/22. Have read some mixed reviews for this venue but I have to say, our experience for evening meals and breakfast were excellent! My.son and I shared the 12.portion loaded wings and i was really surprised as to how nice they were. We then both had rump steak medium rare and cooked.to perfection. The only downside to our meal were the peas really not very nice so they just got.pushed to one side. The following morning, we went in for breakfast and were served by a very jolly Jo and equally strange Sophie, who took our breakfast orders. I had two of everything I asked for my eggs runny and I got a perfect plate of food, really, really good thank you to Ash who cooked for us. We are going back again in April 2022 another Gymnastics competition and so will see how consistent their service is.
Super friendly staff, even through the heatwave they were amazing. Had the full English breakfast, didn't disappoint! Clean and well run, what more could you ask for?
Not great today.. not sure what's going on. Ordered at the bar.. no issues with service but the food took quite a while to come out.. and when it did, it was obvious it had been under a heat lamp for a long time. The fish on my wifes fish and chips was brown, hard, overdone.. with a burnt lemon for some reason heat lamp? the bbq sauce on my ribs had gone solid/grown a thick skin.. the chips were overdone and luke warm.. dry and chewy.. all signs the plates had been left under a heat lamp for a long time. The winner winner chicken dinner was a loser with its watery gravy and bland taste.. only the carrots had any flavour.. Not a good meal to be found today I'm afraid.
Never again will I come here....served raw eggs and even had a hair in the egg. But the hair was actually cooked into the egg. Disgusting. Fair play to the server who came and sorted it after his manager refused to come anywhere near the table. Think there needs to be a change in job roles here....
Iv been here 3 times in the last 3 months, first 2 visits there was over a 40 min wait for food at lunch time! Tonight didn't have to wait long for food but ordering a pudding straight after was another over 30 min wait! Lot of tables waiting for food longer then us! Food being sent back as it was cold!! Such a shame as our food was nice even though coleslaw could do with more mayo! Staff seemed to be stressed and only 1 till working, seems to me as if there is a major staff shortage here! Other then that it was nice and warm and cosy with Christmas lights!
Well other so many good meals here we thought we would go back and have another meal. It wasn't the best meal that we have had.. My chips where cold and it seemed like they had been sat on the plate for a bit of time. The kids had pizza and by the size of the pizza it would of feed two kids in one meal. The girl that was running the food out to tables seemed really moody when she brought our food to our table. It also seemed that table service was a bit slow and it was quite quiet when we went. And they also brought out the adults meals first. Then the kids meals. From what I have been told and know bout kitchen food being taken out. You always take the kids out to tables first.
We had something to eat out, there was a reasonable choice at a reasonable price point. Good selection of beers as you would require.. Staff friendly and attentive. Clean and hygienic tables, and all in all a good experience.Food: 4/5
Came here for Mother’s Day lunch, previously enjoyed the food here etc, arrived at our time booked, got served food and drinks quickly, only 3 of us and we all had the carvery option, we went up and got our food, was okay. Got to our table and the drinks didn’t get to us until we’d finished eating! Could hear tables around us complaining and asking staff when they did appear how long for desserts etc, we were planning on ordering desserts and did ask a member of staff who said he’d get a waitress for us, never happened, we waiting 45-50 minutes and not once our table was cleared or a member of staff came to us, so we got up and went to pay. There seemed to be plenty of staff as a lot of them were all hovering in a large group near the carvery area, so no excuse for the extremely slow service. Girl on the till was apologetic, we realised half way home we’d also got charged for having had 2 courses each along with our drinks when all three of us only had a main meal. Ruins a special day.
The steak was absolutely spot on and arrived in good time. The pub is very under staffed and needs another pair of hands as the staff are running round without a chance to take a moment to themselves. Unfortunately there was a mistake with a pudding but fixed in no time. With one or two more staff the place would run like clockwork but if you're willing to wait a few minutes extra then the food is worth the wait.
Chose to go here, as it’s a kid friendly, close to home and I could use my NHS discount. However a very Slow service. 1 hour wait for food due to being So so Understaffed on a busy Saturday night. One person at the bar, taking food orders and then making the drinks which led to the queue being ridiculously long. Asked for cutlery and condiments several times to have to remind the waiter. Used my blue light card to receive 25% off. Didn’t get a receipt so unfortunately wasn’t able to see what I was charged. But working it out using a calculator and the menus, I wasn’t charged correctly. Brought this up with the manager at the end of the evening about the discount to be told “I’d have to go through all of the receipts to find out’ sounded too much effort, can’t check the system to see what had been ordered at a specific time to find out what was out through . Isn’t that how they find out where they take food to which table?? No offer as a gesture ‘free drink’ etc Also I was brought out the wrong food, but obviously with no receipt I couldn’t show what I asked for. It was changed and surprisingly that took less than 10 minutes to get a complete new meal. Weird how it took an hour before. Over all the food was ok, my husband enjoyed his and so did the little one and myself, but I’ve still come out hungry! Will NOT be going back sadly.
