My partner wanted some fish & chips and found this place online. We decided to check it out. The location is in what I would call a business area and not on the main strip. The sign outside was misleading because it read three people in at a time. We almost left because it appeared to be a window service spot. However, when I checked the door, it was opened with seating. The gentlemen there was friendly. She ordered fish, fries & mac and I had fish, greens & kale & cabbage. The fish was great and perfectly fried as well as the fresh cut fries. The cabbage was ok. It had a kick but had a sweet taste. It wasn't bad. Thr mac and greens were not good at all. The mac is missing something. Something was off We both tried 1 spoon full and just couldn't eat it. The greens & kale were too tangy. I couldn't eat it. Parking: It's a strip on about 4 businesses with spots in front of them..sin e its in like a business area there most likely will be enough parking.
The store smells horrible upon entering, I should've just left from that red flag. The Fried chicken had a lot of feathers on it and the wings were disgustingly huge, the taste was bland and unseasoned, threw it away. The Waffles were decent...The owners were friendly but the food was not up to par.Food: 2/5
The food is great but they ran out of sweet potatoes at 12pm. The menu has good options. The fish and chicken was good and seasoned well. Now the menu prices are based on the sides stated on the menu item. If you went to pick your own sides you pay more. So the chicken and fish combo with fries is 11.99 but if you want a different side the price goes up based on the side or sides you want instead. For the fish dinner changing the sides it was only $1.00 to pick your own sides. Mac m cheese wasnt very cheesy I could taste more egg than cheese. Collard greens and fries were good. Chicken and fish was good flavorful like southern grandma.
I found this place by accident. It's a little hole in the wall tucked away from the main road but it's the best kept secret. I ordered the fish and chicken combo and an order of hush puppies not seen here because they were too good to photograph! The fish is Whiting so they're will be bones, but it doesn't take away from the flavor. I loved the flavor of the chicken, you can test a hint of lemon pepper or something that gives it that additional zest. I only gave four stars because I like my chicken to be fried hard and my chicken wasn't. It's not a deal breaker though. The place is clean and there are two bathrooms as well. My experience overall was pleasant.
Not a secret, but definitely a hidden gem. Fast service- Do not order delivery- go on and get yourself a big scoop of human connection with a side of delicious home style food. My new favorite breakfast place, just what the doctor ordered ; Waffle- fluffy, flavorful, and melt in mouth Tenders- juicy, great batter, and big Mac n cheese- is there a six star rating?
The service was good and the food tasted great but, we went for the crab fries which they were out of and the "jumbo shrimp" wasn't really jumbo and it was kind of a bummer that they were out of ice!!! To reply to their reply, I'm adding this edit. You we're absolutely correct, the menus you have posted online does not state "jumbo shrimp" and the menu that is on the wall inside your establishment also does not state jumbo shrimp. It actually states "large shrimp" so therefore for the size of the shrimp, I believe them to be a bit over priced $12.99 when you only get 10pcs. And the "bummer" of you guys being out of ice was NOT in reference to the shrimp's temperature. Only that when my lunch companion asked for a cup of ice for her drink, we were informed you were out of ice. If that's because all of your ice was being used to keep the shrimp at the right temperature then by all means please use your ice for the shrimp so patrons like myself will not get sick eating spoiled shrimp. Also, if you're not aware, there's several grocery stores near by your establishment as well as The Restaurant Depot. I can forward their information if you would like. Thanks for a tasty meal.
The best Chicken and Waffles in the area!!! I come here all the time for breakfast and it is always BOMB. The chicken is well seasoned and perfectly fried. The waffle is flavorful and doesn't even need syrup. The fish is also very good! Its seasoned so well that it doesn't even need hot sauce. The owner is very nice and helpful
The fish was nicely fried and the tarter sauce is amazing. The mumbo sauce is different but I liked it!!
We were running late and we needed to get some breakfast but it was almost lunch time so we decided to try this restaurant we order the Salmon and grits macaroni and cheese and chicken wings and French fries. My daughter took one look at the macaroni and decided she wasn’t eating that mind I tell you we haven’t eaten all morning the chicken wings sucks the grits tasted not too bad but you can still taste the burn in it, the fries was way too salty I felt disappointed the food was not on point we tried to eat it but despite being hungry we pack up what we couldn’t eat try and eat it when we got hungrier.
I been coming to around the clock chicken for almost 2 years now and I usually get the same thing. The 3 piece chicken and waffles, which has always been slapping when the original cook was there. But recently I’ve seen new staff and a new cook and the food has not been as good. I tried ordering just wings and instead of the large size chicken wings I was given a small box of wingets. It tasted as if they were either cooked in old grease or burnt. I was highly disappointed because I know what to usually expect. Along with the hours of operation times always changing and always being closed, I never know when to come. I really used to love this place now it’s becoming more and more difficult to support them.
