This is one of the best venues for live music in Cheshire. Essentially a jazz club they present a wide range of musical genres. The lounge, upstairs, provides a brilliant and intimate atmosphere. We saw Hour Glass giving a wonderful set of James Taylor songs. Lots of dancing classes as well! Do try it.
Great live entertainment, good drinks prices & ticket prices. Private room hire available as well.
A really welcoming venue which can be hired for weddings etc, but also hosts quality music acts. There are two performance spaces; upstairs and down, the downstairs being the bigger of the two. It is primarily a Jazz venue, but not exclusively, and favours more vocal oriented music which is accessible and not cliquey. It's run by someone who wants to champion local music too. Small bar, with food available.
We've been coming here for over 14 years and we've had such wonderful evenings here listening to a variety of great bands. Superb regular favourites like Stevie Williams and the Most Wanted, Jeremy Sassoon, Snake Davis, Liane Carroll and Ian Shaw to a vast range of musicians representing all types of music. Last night was yet another great example of how much fun it is to attend the gigs here as Jeremy Sassoon reunited with his friend Paul Bentley to entertain a packed house with some classics and a most unusual rendition of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, which demanded significant audience participation. It would be remiss of me to not mention the great staff at the Club. They are always friendly and helpful and help to make this Club the great place that it is for live music.
Came here for a work Christmas do, we had the upstairs function room which was perfect what we needed. Will say the drinks choice is somewhat limited but is often the case with these types of places and toilets were a little worse for wear. There's a nice fire and some good wingback chairs! A piece of feedback for the management we had a company bar tab and depending on what member of staff served you, you would be told differently in so much that after having already ordered 3 rounds of a particular drink I was then told it wasn't covered on the tab, to be then served one again later in the night??
1st time I've been to this venue and it really is a hidden gem. Owners passionate about music and staff very professional and helpul. Excellent acoustics and quality sound from a healthy PA system created a buzzing atomosphere and overall wonderful vibe. Great stuff !!
I found Modern Jive about seven years ago and began dancing on The Cinnamon Club's dance floor twice a week - as theirs is the best, and probably the busiest venue in the North West. I had been loving my dancing there for some time when I discovered the Jazz Club upstairs . . . . what a discovery. It's intimate, friendly and offers a regular menu of great music. Then - someone told me about the choir that meets there on a Wednesday and my life changed again for the better our most recent gig was closing the Manchester Jazz Festival. I've attended weddings there and one of the loveliest funeral services too. Membership should be offered on the NHS. There really is something here for everyone.
Love this venue. Lots of varied entertainment and a lovely venue for a wedding party. In house excellent catering available. Nice, laid back staff who are friendly and welcoming. Beautifully sprung dance floor which is lovely to dance on
Always a brilliant night at the Cinnamon Club. The work that Neil and his team continue to do for live music in Manchester and the North West goes above and beyond. He has a passion that is clear for all to see. It’s always a privilege to gig here, I can’t wait for the next time. If you’ve never been, you really must treat yourself. See you soon!!!
Lovely old building with the eleborate feeling of them old days. Last time was 35 years ago and it's still a lovely building with great spaces to do. Was a great "deja vu" Fabulous place for parties birthdays and so on.
