I'm not retiring anytime soon, but it was a lovely venue for a coffee and meeting. The meal deal is great value for money and very yummy.
The Chocolate Quarter was constructed using the art deco buildings built by Fry's and finally owned by Cadburys before they moved manufacturing to Poland. The buildings were then taken over by St Monicas Trust who own several care homes in the Bristol area. It is pretty industrial when you drive in and the former gardens have been replaced by houses built quite close to the works buildings. This gives a cramped industrial feel, far from the feeling Fry's would have been aiming for. Inside it has been renovated to a reasonable standard although there is too much use of the Cadbury purple for most people. Service was good and the staff friendly. The food was of good standard although typically of a St Monicas institution there was plenty of swede. You are limited to two hours parking which meant there wasn't enough time to have a sweet
My grandaughter had a party there on Sunday, my son rented the cinema room for really reasonable price, just take the dvd of your choice ,Massive screen ,comfy chairs ,all the children and adults loved the experience. Clean spacious,surrounded by bars and restaurants. I was really shocked bring told it was a retirement home,
Fantastic imaginably equipped retirement home. Beautiful situation and fabulous coffee shop. Immaculately looked after like a 5star hotel! Has a gym swimming pool and some excellent beauty salons.
