Been meaning to come here for ages, and finally found the time to visit, some years after the move from South Street. The exterior of the shop looks clean and fresh, centrally located in South Molton, and the entrance is welcoming. It opens into the extremely well stocked shop, bought two to three years ago by the present proprietors. The shop itself is also clean and fresh, and appears well looked after. There are myriad items stocking the deli, ranging from wine, crackers, coffee, cider and of course cheese. I'm no expert, but do like my cheese board, and with the suggestions from the two very lovely owners I came away with a great selection. I had a small truckle of Devon camembert cum brie, a delightful Devon blue, Fox Red, and a couple of others. All of it was delicious, and I was thankful for the help in choosing the cheeses. The knowledge of the owners was exceptional, and I enjoyed listening to them about their journey into food. I don't live in South Molton but rest assured that when I next visit I'll be buying more!
Today we had the cheese board to take away, frankly just amazing, lots of cheese which was all beautiful especially the Sharpham Brie, and great people sharing their passion for customers and product alike. Well done just a perfect day to eat out in the sunshine
The chicken/ham pie was obviously out of date. It caused me diarrhea, painful stomach and cramps, awful experience, dodgy stuff. Wish I have never popped in. Thry are playing with people's well-being
Pre-ordered some cheese by phone. Very helpful. Lovely shop with stacks of cheeses and all things related to cheese.Food: 5/5
Always friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Great products and great gift ideas....chocolate aswell. I come out feeling quite special.Food: 5/5
My wife bought me probably the best brie I've ever had this morning. Going back tomorrow to get some more as I've eaten it. Baron Bigod, proper un pasteurised brie unlike the tasteless stuff from the supermarkets. She loved the shop and described it as an Aladdin's cave of goodness.
I phoned up for a little box of birthday goodies for a friend who lives in the town. The lady I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful. We eventually decided on 4 cheeses, a jar of chutney and some crackers and I left it to her judgement as regards the selection. Our friend said it was the perfect gift. Thank you so much.
Lovely little shop selling a wide range of local & further afield cheeses. They offer a good selection of home baked pasties and pies. They also do a selection of homemade filled sandwiches although sadly the range isn't a varied as it used to be. I visit every year when on holiday in the area and the staff are always great; they even recognise me too! Visited 1-6 August 21
Having seen all these wonderful revies can't understand why my experience was so poor. Member of staff very unforthcoming no offer of advice or assistance. After being shown the larger of 2 sizes of camembert and I asked about the price was told she didn't know they didn't stock and would have to order. Nice to know a small business in our town can just say goodbye to quite z large order. I obviously didn't bother to ask about the pies chutneys and biscuits I wanted to accompany.. Hugely disappointed
No idea what the negative reviews about the service are about. Very friendly well informed service. Told them that we were travelling and they volunteered to give us a free ice pack. Very good selection of cheeses both local and international. Although you'd be mad to go for anything outside of the west country as the cheese is so good.
