Absolutely fantastic little place! So knowledgeable of all the cheeses, and great chat whilst preparing our cheeses. Surprised how reasonably priced everything was for being premium products! Rush to get there as this may be the last winter they are open due to retirement! My picture only shows part of the selection...
Another must visit when we're in the Black Isle. A wonderful range of cheeses and I always take recommendations from them, and samples provided.
I love Dutch cheese, so was delighted to see them at the Inverness farmers market today. Couple of excellent mature cheeses later, and I'm a happy man. Judging by the queue I stood in, they're hugely popular. Only down side is I have no cut off when it comes to eating good cheese, so I can't buy too much at any one time....
A hidden gem in Cromarty is this little cheese shop in the old Police house , its packed with local cheeses and stacks of Dutch ones as well , the woman behind the counter was very kind to let us try a few and so we left with almost 2kg of cheeses
Fantastic range of Dutch cheeses fresh cut from the wheel, and also a selection of local cheeses. Staff very friendly and happy to let you try everything before making your decision. Prices are on par with buying these cheeses elsewhere very reasonable, and the setting is great. Small range of local oatcakes and chutneys to go with as well.
The shop keeper is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to choosing just the right cheeses.
Fantastic cheese shop with great choice of cheeses, olives, biscuits and crackers, chutney, olive oil and preserves. Local and regional cheeses a specialty, with tasting availability. ..try before you buy. A warm welcome and great customer service. Repeat visits recommended! A good local wine shop would go perfectly with this! !
In 2015 my niece, nephew and I stayed in Cromarty when we came up from London, and we had the good fortune of staying round the corner from Emmy's cheese shop in Cromarty. We could not get enough of her wonderful Dutch cheeses and her explanations, we went every day for more supplies! I've just been back today and thank god she is the same and the cheeses are fabulous just like before even though she moved into a different location in the town. Do not miss her or her cheeses, you'll be as delighted as we were/are and you'll quickly be back for more!!!!
If you love Dutch cheese and want to try some local stuff then this is THE place to visit. Highly suggest everyone tries the "Minger" no joke which stinks to high heaven but tastes totally amazing. The chap who served us was really informative and gave us a sample before we make a purchase. So glad they do mail order!
Dutch lady serving Dutch cheeses. How could you not love this place if you love being served Dutch cheeses by a Dutch lady. These Cheeses were not something you would find easily anywhere else and were delicious.
