I spoke to triage, 2 hours later I saw a doctor. He examined me and gave me a prescription. He told me if I didn't start to feel better in 5 days to get back to the surgery.nHe also sent a referral to Andover Hospital for me to have an x-ray that afternoon, which I did. Excellent service, many thanks.
Tried to book an appointment over the phone. Automated service lets you get through all the steps entering DOB, phone number etc. then cuts you off saying it's not working. 'Triage' puts you in a queue then cuts you off. Reception line is broken up so you can't have a proper conversation.nnAfter all that I thought I'd drive to the surgery to book an appointment, only to be told by the reception team that the doctors look after their own diaries and the only thing I can do is ring.nnMassively frustrating for me, but what about anyone suffering from mental health difficulties or an elderly person? Absolutely no care for the patient anymore.nnAlso not to be rude, but if the doctors 'arrange' their own diary via an automated system and prescriptions are handed out directly by the doctor to the patient/pharmacy without reception involvement, what are they actually doing there?!
The reception team have 0 ounces of care or compassion in them. Absolutely shocking & disgusting the way they are all allowed to talk to people. Hard to believe they are part of the care sector!!nnDidn’t realise that people had to plan in advance when they are ill.nOr that the receptionists who are not medical professional's decide if you’re unwell enough to actually speak to or see a Dr.nnAll this .. despite being told by a DOCTOR to phone today.nAnd because of that, and the power not being in the receptionists hands, they take it upon themselves to speak to you in a vile & disgusting tone! Added to this they twist the narrative & gaslight the patient so that they don’t appear to be in the wrong and it’s the patients fault!nnI hope that you do record your telephone calls for training purposes. Because you have created a situation that you can all learn from and that could have easily been avoided if your reception team had shown the care & compassion you say you offer, on the first phone call.nnAll details are currently being written up to be passed on to the practice manager.nAlong with the local NHS ICB complaints department.
Going down faster than the titanic ! This morning I get a phone call from this place loathe to call it a doctors at 3 minutes to nine telling me to go on triage and speak to the clinician about my meds, I phoned 32 minutes later the phone line goes dead, I phoned the reception and explained that I had been asked to phone, could she put me through to the clinician please, reply was no I can't do that you need to go on triage. I explained that I had used all my calling credit being in the que for 30minsthen hung up on. Response was thelines shut at 9:30 I asked for someone to phone me, response, you need to go on triage. About as much help and use as a hundred weight of bricks to a drowning man. I wish I had listened to advice to change surgeries before the others had closed taking on more patients.most of the doctors are good. There is one who is arrogant and whose refusal to listen ended up with me spending 14 days as a guest of Salisbury hospital. A recognised reaction to new meds I had been given, he had decided it was a water infection didn't read my notes didn't even look away from his computer screen to look at me yet alone looks at the symptoms. The only people with anything good to says about the majority of the receptionists are friends of the receptionists.
Excellent, efficient service from start to finish. Warm welcome from the receptionist. My appointment was on time. It was so nice to find a nurse who took the time to thoroughly explain the vaccination I was about to receive. Nurse Thebe displayed excellent inter personal skills.
