Family friendly village pub with a garden
The Castle Inn is one the oldest pubs in the area dating back to the 17th century.
The Inn was built in 1620 where it started life as a wooden structure. It was rebuilt many times until the early 1900′s and now stands as a brick structure as it is today. We believe our cellar still has tunnels running to the church and the creek which were used by smugglers, to smuggle Tea, Silk & Brandy, but have been since blocked in.
We aim to provide you with Traditional cask ales, and home cooked food is very much at the forefront of the business. Our English cask ales are forever changing, a selection of which are brewed within 2 miles of the pub itself at the local brewery.
Carefully prepared home cooked food is available all day using locally sourced fresh ingredients that we think sets us apart from the rest.
We pride ourselves on being a Family-Friendly village pub. We have a children’s play area outside in our beer garden where you can relax whilst the little ones play in a safe environment.
All in all The Castle Inn is a place steeped in history where you will receive a warm welcome from our friendly team that will make you want to visit us again & again.
Enjoy.
The Castle Inn Team.
