Lovely little cafe with good service. Free parking and the cafe is situated outside the castle grounds with inside and outside seating. Lovely walks around the cafe down to the lakes. We had a very nice cream tea for the reasonable price of 7.50. I would recommend going here if you would like to get away from bustle of Torbay and your children or dogs would love exploring the grounds.
A great cafe! Good food & lovely service. We popped in for a quick and tasty breakfast which easily met our expectations. The toast was delivered with a serving of marmalade which made my day. And as for their wonderful cakes...? Next time
We drove from London to visit the castle and were pleasantly surprised to discover this lovely, quaint cafe in the castle's shadow. A year after our visit, we are still talking about the incredible coffee walnut cake! Such wonderful service in the most adorable and picturesque setting. I can't say that I'd drive all that way to see the castle again, but I just might go back for another slice of cake!
Great cafe with indoor, outdoor and partially covered outdoor seating. Offers a range of meals and snacks. We had cream teas and my wife was pleased to be able to have one too, as they offer gluten free cream teas. Good value and friendly service. The cafe is a hidden gem. Follow the single track road to Berry Pomeroy Castle. A warm welcome awaits you. Superbly cooked Sunday roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding. Attentive helpful people . Book in advance to be sure of a seat. Wheelchair accessible entrance. Dog friendly too. Lovely log burner made the meal cozy.
Best cream tea I've ever had!...and huge too. Great view of castle from outside covered seating area and even allowed our little dog in. Orange flavoured scone was our favourite
I urge you to visit to Castle Cafe, what a surprise to find that they're serving Sunday Roast. The roast was first rate, with all the trimmings, all for £10.95 and a roaring fire what more can we have. The manage was pleasant and despite being busy had time to chat. Go there. Ps just found out it's not owned by English Heritage, if it was me thinks it would be double the the price.
Beautiful setting,lovely food and great staff. Will be opening weekends only shortly so looking forward to having a Sunday roast in the future! Kid-friendliness: Patient with my fidgety young grandson! Parking: Plenty of parking
Excellent cream tea, with choice of fruit or plain scones which were delicious. Generous portions and plenty of clotted cream and strawberry jam with good, strong tea. Nice and clean, good view of castle too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our two dogs were made welcome too. Highly recommended.
Had a excellent breakfast here. After visiting the castle decided to get some food. My full breakfast was delicious and the portions are big. My daughter had a bacon and egg bap that would have fed 2 people. Definitely recommend
