To be honest this isn't something I would normally consider eating but it felt wrong to leave Stonehaven without even having tried it. The batter was very crispy and yes it was a mars bar inside but alas to sweet for me. But definitely worth a visit.
Carron's fish bar is just ace. Lots of choice and all freshly cooked and delicious. Make sure you are hungry as portions are generous. My only little negative is the £4 surcharge for ordering online. This is the only eatery I know that charges for this service. I hope it doesn't catch on
The Carron certainly lives up to its reputation of serving the best fish and chips in Scotland. The staff were lovely and our order was very prompt. The fish and chips were perfect. The deep fried Mars bar was particularly good with a crispy, crunchy exterior and melting, gooey middle. The curry sauce and homemade tartar sauce were also fantastic. 10/10
Lived up to their rep as one of the best chippy in Scotland, food was excellent all cooled fresh, staff where friendly, had the famous battered Marsbar an experience not to be missed,
Had vegan fillets supper! Really enjoyed them. Great to see vegan options at more chippies! Will be back!
Hardly a bad word to say about this fish & chip shop. Fish and batter were very good, as were the chips. Service was fast and the lady who served me was very friendly and efficient. The whole experience was so much more pleasurable than I received at the much more highly rated The Bay Fish & Chips round the corner. Well done and thank you.
Has been voted best fish n chip shop in Scotland in recent years. Certainly lived up to its reputation. Lovely chips and lovely breaded haddock - very fresh tasting too! No restaurant - but it's proximity to the beach allowed us to eat on the rocks.A wee scotch on the rocks would also have been good - but that came later.
Amazing fish and chips! The staff was also very friendly! And, if you're feeling like something a bit crazy, try the deep fried Mars bar!
Nice wee chip shop but disappointed to see that they use palm oil to fry in. In this day and age of looking after the environment palm oil should be off the menu. Other than that the food was good, if not a bit look warm despite being cooked to orderFood: 3/5
Lovely fish and chips from here. I was greedy and also got 2 x battered Mars bars for me and the Mrs to have, one thing I would say is i found it a tad expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for. Anyway i can't fault the food and the service was pretty quick.
