Great value for money, BUT the tables are always dirty and not cleared fast enough. Always short staffed and running out of food!nJust get the basics right!
We spent a lazy afternoon here where we felt relaxed and comfortable too.nThe food was very hot and tasty.nWe had some bitter shandies and they had a great taste too.nLuckily they had a downstairs disabled toilet with easy access .nNot too noisy at least you can have a chat with no problems.nThe staff are very helpful.nLovely place for everyone.

The butter cross formally the crown is a lovely Wetherspoons pub in the middle of the village. There is an excellent selection of beer, larger and cider. There were four hand pulled cask conditioned real ales and a gorgeous draft cider at 7.5% abv too strong if you are driving. We didn't try the Christmas menu but had a beef madras curry and a gourmet burger, both were excellent. The Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Had 2 breakfasts, Big wait for both, veggie was okay but scrambled egg on toast was awful, overcooked, grey, like rubber, inedible. I get its cheap and cheerful but it should be edible at least! Won't be coming back again.
