Good food, nice spot, music, sports on screens. Food would have scored higher by scotch egg being served hot/cooked fresh & there not being such a gap between stater which came out really quick & main. Almost had to order another starter as an interim as was getting hungry! Also would be nice to serve chips in a bowl instead of a cardboard box Cheapens the meal/makes it feel like a takeaway Nice concept to sit at the butchers counter however the stools don’t height adjust I’m not short & struggled
Loved this place. We were very lucky to sit at the chefs table. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and we were made very welcome. There was even a sausage for Mabel. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.
I recently visited BT&G on Father's Day, hoping for a special meal to celebrate the occasion. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment.nnFirst, the food was served cold and mediocre at best, which is completely unacceptable for any restaurant. To make matters worse, instead of proper cutlery, we were given flimsy disposable wooden cutlery to cut a steak. Trying to enjoy a meal with these was frustrating and frankly, ridiculous.nEventually my brother went back to the counter and brought metal cutlery, we were given the excuse of not keeping Metal cutlery in the garden area which is understandable but unacceptable that we were given wooden cutlerynPersonally we felt discriminated as ever other table got Metal cutlery to use.nnThis experience ruined what should have been a perfectly good Father's Day. I won't be returning and can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent dining experience.nPictures speak louder than words.
A good friend recommended us to The Butchers Tap and Grill so I decided to take my beautiful partner for her birthday and we traveled for the experience 70 miles from Gloucester. On arrival we asked for help but we were pretty much ignored by the serving staff so my partner had to approach them and go into the building and ask for the Wi-Fi password as there was no signal to download the app. However when the food arrived it was off the scale delicious - just pure indulgence. The staff were friendly when serving us the food to the table and we even had a nice chat and a surprise birthday pudding. The chateaubriand fillet steak was cooked incredibly well we asked for medium rare and was absolutely spot, the sides especially the truffle mayo fries were tasty, we had most of the sides on the menu foodies will love it here, just bring plenty of cash.
I really wanted to love this place with the concept and the decor but the food is a little disappointing. This place is for a meat lover but there is no Maillard reaction in the cooking of the meat which made it very mediocre. Won’t be rushing back but would stop by for a drink.
