It used to be a place to visit but now with the new parking or lack of. it's an absolute disaster to cross the bridge. We had to wait an hour for people to reverse right back to the beach.. fair play to the golf club for opening up their access road to relieve the congestion.. well done to our esteemed city manager Mr Keegan for yet another disaster
Love it here, an oasis in the city. Great beach, lovely dunes in conservation area.
A lovely place to take a walk and get a breath of fresh air. Along the walk you'll find many spots to sit and take in the wide views of the port with the ferries & cargo ships coming and foing, Dollymount and Howth along with the bathing areas separate male and female. You'll find that alot of the seats have memorials to the people that frequented them, in some cases you'll also find a local sitting there who's more than happy to have a chat. At the end of the walk you'll come upon the elevated statue of Our Lady, Star of the Sea and the wide open waters leading out of Dublin Bay. After your walk you should grab a coffee & something nice from the gang in Happy Out. There's ample parking along the road leading up the road from the wooden bridge and various parkings spots off the road. Bare in mind the area is quiet sandy & open to the elements. I would recommend that you bring a jacket just in case- I visited on a day when the temperature was quiet high but the further down the walk the more the cool breeze picked up. The great thing is that dogs are welcome once they're on a lead & under control. The are taps along the walk where you can grab some water for yourself & in some instances there's doggie dishes but I would recommend bringing your own. Good news the Happy Out cafe also has water dishes. Have fun & enjoy your walk.
Great place for walking and catching sunrise and sunsets
Decent walk for exercise. Great views across Dublin Bay. Free car parking. If you're brave and immune to cold! you can even swim from there!
A place of relaxation
Great walk, love the memory seats
