Fantastic two night stay with our 2 children. Rooms were immaculate and very well presented. Breakfast and dinner were beautiful. Fabulous location with nice walks in the area and a short drive to Brighton. Phil and his team could not do enough for us especially when our little girl was ill on the second evening. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
4 of us went to dinner on a Saturday night. Atmosphere was nice, not manic busy, staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Our waitress knew the menu well enough to answer questions about the dishes on it and accommodate personal preferences and also to answer questions on the wine list. Food was nicely presented, hot and delicious! All at a sensible price. A great night!
Fantastic pub with lovely traditional bar area with log fire, contemporary restaurant area and amazing large beer garden. Dog friendly too which is a bonus ! Staff are friendly and helpful, and food is absolutely delicious and of a very high standard. Car park can get busy at peak times but there is free parking opposite. Highly recommended...
Visited three times twice for food the burger and chips were brilliant but the steak left a lot to be desired at this price point. The chicken Cesar salad was below average. The lamb was superb but very cheeky to sell on its own you had to buy potatoes/side separately. Service was great and staff very friendly and accommodating - I would return.
Lovely stay in this warm friendly pub. Amazing lunch service yesterday by Katie and Tom enjoying hearty British home cooked food by the fire. Good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. Sadly leaving today but will be back soon
I recently stayed at the Bull for two nights and it was a fantastic experience. The room was beautiful, the food was great and the pub's location on the South Downs was brilliant - so many nearby walks to do and places to visit. I would highly recommend a stay there. The staff were lovely especially Vikki and her husband, they were very kind and always available to answer any of our questions.
We just had a roast at the Bull on Sunday and sadly did not live up to expectations at all. The pub was full of flies, no one commented as to why or what could be done about it. Our food arrived before our drinks and the red wine had clearly been spilt and was all around the stem and base of the glass. When my husband went to the loo, the urinal was dirty and full of urine - overflowing. I presume this is why there were so many flies? This is really terrible for a pub of this quality, quite shocking. It really did not feel clean or looked after. I think this pub has really gone down in quality based on previous experiences. Even though its my local pub I will not be returning any time soon, a really poor experience.
Lovely Roast dinner on Sunday 18th for a parents birthday for a table of 10. My parents who have been many times to the restaurant. But there would have been more stars as we left disappointed with the amount of flies in the restaurant landing on food and people. Otherwise lovely food! Just a shame about the flies.
Yep. Worth the hype I’d say. They’ve really sorted this place out. Great food great staff warm atmosphere busy vibe but not too noisy. Had a big family meal here - really nice eve.
Not stayed so cannot comment on the rooms, but visited the restaurant and the service and food is great. Service was slightly slow when visiting one Sunday, however it was busy, but no complaints about the staff, they are exemplary. Location is lovely, only criticism is the parking which isn't ideal anyway in Ditchling due to the location, but parking can be a problem due to the size of the car park on a busy day. This aside, fantastic place and would highly recommend.
