Stayed for one night, attending a family gathering in the area. Very friendly welcome, had a drink in the bar before checking in. Very well stocked bar with good choice of beers. Our room at the top of the building had a lot of character but the furniture and decor had obviously been updated sympathetically. Bathroom was small but very well fitted and clean. Very comfortable bed! Breakfast next morning was very good, obviously they source top quality ingredients from local suppliers. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area. Parking: Large car park at rear of building
We had our wedding here in October and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to have it. Leigh Anne and Dionne made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The location is just amazing and is so beautiful in our photos. The food was, in the words of our guests, “the best food they have ever had at a wedding”. Nothing was too much for any of the staff they saw to our every need. We stayed the night before with our family and had a lovely meal as a start to the celebrations. The rooms are spacious impeccably clean and very comfortable. My grandmother is in a wheelchair and they made sure throughout the day that she was able to take part in everything and were there with the ramps whenever needed. I would 110% recommend this as the perfect location for a beautiful and memorable wedding. They also do a mean Sunday roast as well. Thank you Dionne, Leigh Anne, Sacha and Martin and all the rest of the staff who made our special day just perfect in every way. Parking: Parking is plentiful. Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramps available if required and the staff will assist if needed.
Attended a wedding here on 1st June, I must say the venue was great, food was superb with a great service all round from friendly bar staff. Didn’t hear any complaints from anyone on the day as all enjoyed, the breakfast served up the next day was great too! Plenty of parking available, it’ll be worth another visit if I’m in the area too, thank you!
I really enjoyed staying here, I stayed in room five which is the suite. It's a big room with a recently updated bathroom. I ate my evening dinner here which was very tasty. In the morning I had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The staff here were really friendly. The free WiFi was very fast and I had no issues streaming video. The hotel also has free parking on-site. Well done the bull hotel
Wonderful Christmas meal with my amazing work colleagues. My vegetarian dishes were gorgeous and served along with everyone else which doesn't always happen. The staff were very attentive and made our evening really special. Vegetarian options: Excellent dishes, beautifully presented and a good hearty portion.
Lovely pub, great beer and brilliant service. We had the roast but was left disappointed with the beef which came up as 2 pieces of very thin slices of meat. It felt as though it was all they had left. The trimmings were all fantastic but when you pay £24 for a roast dinner you'd hope the main part would be a little more substantial.Food: 3/5
We had Sunday lunch with our rather large family today. Considering they were serving 9 people the food was fast, fresh and hot. The cocktails were fabulous and the staff were attentive and accommodating we will definitely be back in the future thank you guys for such a lovely afternoonService: 5/5
Hired the Buttery for my Mum's 90th Party, excellent service, excellent room, excellent buffet. Also stayed one night in one of the lovely guest rooms, breakfast was really good. Staff, Venue, Food, Drink, Accommodation all first class.
What a lovely place for a wedding, such a good time but oh the price of drinks :- Two medium white wine and two pints lager from the bar before wedding £30.80. The locals must be awash with cash or there's two sets of prices !!!Rooms: 5/5
Left feeling really disappointed with our lunch experience here, will not be coming back and certainly do not recommend a visit. I ordered the vegetarian stew which wasn't cheap £16.50! and I've seen more food on child's portions. I rarely if ever leave poor reviews especially for local businesses but after getting a snobby response when I tried to share my opinion with a staff member combined with poor service throughout and the fact I left feeling hungry and robbed, this is the result. Avoid unless you like paying high prices for tiny portions!
