A great place to stay it is Central to Southport and close to the conference centre. It has an old-world charm but is bang up to date. The hotel has a popular bar frequented by local people. All the staff are helpful and friendly and this is what really made my stay special. The rooms are very comfortable and and modern. My only gripe is that you can't control the heating in the room as it is managed centrally. Parking is limited with only enough space for 9 cars. There is no dedicated disabled parking and all the bedrooms are at least one floor up with no lift. The staff are more than willing to help you with your luggage up to the room if requested. The breakfasts are good though not outstanding. Apart from the cooked breakfast the buffet part is very limited in the morning. Overall a great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Attended a christening function, the food provided was a mixture of cold/hot buffet, basic I.e sandwiches and chips etc but it was great! Great space And facilities. Big bar, even space for children's soft play. Seating to the front of the hotel outside in the sun. Televisions in the main bar showing football. Would definitely recommend.

Bit of a mixed experience really, when you walk In there is a podium where you would expect to see a waiter/waitress (wait here to be seated ) waited 2 mins approx, then managed to get the attention of an employee walking by to ask if we seated ourselves? I was with a friend for lunch and her 6 month old in a pushchair...we then had to ask for menus, after waiting for someone to acknowledge us 10 mins or So, we then had to again get the attention of a member of staff to ask if we had to order our food at the bar. We felt that the staff were not very attentive to us, and there wasn't enough information provided either verbally or written to inform us of waiter/bar service. The food when it arrived was lovely, and reasonably priced.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, after booking it literally last minute and not knowing anything about it. The room, even though described as 'cozy', was quite spacious, decor nice, super comfy bed. The downside for me was the constant buzzing I could hear all night, but I'm very sensitive to sound, and my friend wasn't bothered at all. My favourite part was breakfast - really tasty full English, fruit/yoghurt/cereal and the like available from the buffet - all good quality and fresh. Parking is very limited, otherwise the experience was great, staff friendly, definitely recommend.

Great mix of olde worlde and modern. Good location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a busy bar and is more like a pub for the locals. Unusual to find such a popular bar in a hotel. Negatives are limited parking and this hotel isn't disabled friendly as all rooms are upstairs with no lift and there is no disabled parking. I would definitely stay here again
