Had a nice walk to this place along the canal. Scenery is spectacular in this area. Decor inside The Boathouse is fantastic and trendy and the food equally matched the decor! I went for the Rib Eye steak “Well Done” before someone says I know I know that’s not how to eat steak, but that is how I enjoy it . Anyway the Rib Eye was fantastic and the fries really really nice, finished off with a great coffee. All in all a great place especially with young ones, the place is also dog friendly. Views to die for.
We booked this place for the week of our wedding. What an accommodating, friendly and just generally wonderful place to have spent such a special week. The staff couldn’t do enough for us! They’ve been so helpful! The food is special too. Good portions, tasty and just lovely! Make sure you have a Dessert!! My goodness me…!!!!! The rooms are lovely and big with everything you need and the bed was super comfortable. Couldn’t be happier! This is a real diamond of a place!
My first visit and certainly won't be my last. Accessible room was lovely and clean, comfortable bed and beautiful view of the marina. Food was amazing and the staff very friendly and professional. It was refreshing to see such young staff doing a fabulous job, smiling, chatting to customers and nothing was any trouble. Well done
Perfect stay for 2 nights... Staff were amazing. Rooms were very big and comfortable. Beds and pillows were great. Breakfast was fantastic. Perfect location to head into Glasgow for events and less than half the price of city hotels!!! Local golf clubs were in unbelievable condition... We'll definitely be coming back for future events Parking: Loads of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access rooms, wet rooms available
Very pleasant stay. Food in the restaurant is good and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Location is lovely. The canal towpath is particularly nice and you can walk a long way in both directions along clean water with lots of wildlife.
Lovely beer garden to enjoy the sunshine and views of the marina and canal. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Service was quick too. Food was average pub grub and I thought the posh fries were a bit strange sort of scooped out fat chips - but that's just my opinion.
A great local business with great views. Nice peaceful ambient atmosphere, the staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms lacked that little extra attention. There was dust above the headboard that the cleaners have routinely missed on multiple occasions. The mini fridge didn't work and the door was really stiff when trying to close. The food was great at dinner we had for starters halloumi frites with cranberry dip and a garlic bread with cheese and carmelized onion. For mains we had 10oz ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce and a side of onion rings. The food was great really enjoyed it the atmosphere was perfect. At breakfast we had the full breakfast fry up, was really looking forward to the breakfast but it didn't live up to expectations. It was well presented but there was too much grease on the food and I couldn't enjoy it. Not long before breakfast we rudely interrupted from our sleep with a fire alarm blazing at 7.30 am when we were planing to get up in an hour to find out the person next door to us had the shower on too hot with door open resulting in the alarm going off. We would have enjoyed our stay more if we didn't encounter any problems.
Lovely, warm, cosy, family friendly, dog friendly, bar, barista, cafe, restaurant. Personally, I really enjoyed it, I had the Chicken Caesar Burger. Tastey, chicken had a weird after taste but together it was nice. Lovely bacon and bun. Standard prices. Worked out just over £20 a head.
Absolutely Stunning setting on the Forth and Clyde canal, near Twechar. Could easily spend hours there people watching and watching life go by. We stopped there for a refreshment after visiting Barr hill fort, which was also stunning. Fortunately we didn't have time to do Croy hill fort which means we will have to go back. Can't wait!
For a rural settlement like Kilsyth, the Boathouse is definitely a centre of attraction. The environment is welcoming and the esthetics brought about by the number of boats is a beauty to behold. The pub and bar is great. I will like to visit here again on a summer holiday. The foyer will be a great place to party. Recommended.
