Arrived with no reservation for food and managed to get a table. Food was delicious. The kids polished their plates which never usually happens lol. Great location on the marina. Fantastic options for food and drink. Plenty of seating in and outside. Would recommend eating here.
We found ourselves in the Isle of Portland on the day of our 10th Anniversary, on our way back to the South East from Devon. After a long drive, a trip to the Lighthouse and a walk around the castle, we were craving a drink and a bit of food. We walked into the Boat That Rocks and loved our experience. Despite some of the negative reviews, I loved their 10 oz burger. The wife loved their Chilli con Carne. The staff were extremely warm. Checked on us a couple of times if everything was alright and looking after us despite of a very big and busy table right behind us. Thanks for helping us finish our holiday on a high.
Average experience. I was looking forward to try their banana blossom but I was not made aware they've run out until we were ready to order. They have a small and simple menu but not all dishes are available. Also no specials served Saturday evening . Food choice very limited. The seafood basket came without any sauces or dips. We tried to ask for some but no one paid attention until we already finished the starter. The cutlery could do with more cleaning. The parking situation is also very awkward as the paying machine was broken and we spent a while looking for another machine and had to pay an extra £2.
My second favourite place on Portland. Beautiful food. Friendly staff and great live bands.
Myself and my wife went yesterday. Corona beer on tap which is a rare find especially if you are from London so 5* for that. We sat outside to have our drinks watching all the coming and goings of the divers and marine folk. Ate inside, ordered calamari to share and the portion was big and tasted fresh. Then had cod and chips each which was big big and really fresh. In hindsight we could of shared the cod and chips as neither of us got much past the cod. Service was good and staff genuinely friendly and helpful. A much enjoyed visit.
Great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Could have had slightly smaller portions and made prices a bit cheaper as a little pricey. Cant complain about the food though all very lovely. The service was a bit hit and miss after meal was served we had to ask about desert it wasn't offered and had to flag people down for additional drinks. Still had a lovely time with friends.
Yummy vegan fish and chips. Highly recommend. Also a beautiful view over the harbour. Dietary restrictions: Vegan options including fish and chips
Excellent! Great food and first rate service.
We didn't like this place at all... I am sorry to say this but... the service was slow, very slow, the food wasn't good at all and we ordered the burger as it was announced on the menu as the best burger in Dorset!!!! Huge expectactions but the disappointment was even bigger, I would say it was one of worse burgers I've ever tried and my friends had the same opinion. And if you decide to try it, expect overcooked meat patty and overtoasted bread...don't forget to order a extra sauce with the burger like blue cheese sauce, so dry otherwise!!
Food excellent and plentiful. Couple of orders were missed, but was a party of 30, so couldn't be helped. Ones whose meals arrived late got free drinks. Good staff, very friendly. Only downside is the acoustic are terrible. Lots of people, lots of headaches. Go when it's quiet.
