The Boat Inn
"Dating back to the mid 17th century and probably much earlier this beautiful riverside inn has been welcoming and refreshing locals and passers-by for centuries. Our aim has been to preserve all its charm, nod nostalgically to the past and remember that proper pubs are always about people and atmosphere while gentling evolving into what a 21st century country pub should offer in terms of food, drink and service, as well as facilities."

We came for lunch, and decided to sit beside the river - as there's a lovely patio/terrace overlooking, and it's at the end of a lane so lovely and peaceful as there is no through traffic. The food is some of the best I've had in the area - and they have some options that can be reduced in size for a children's portion which the little one really enjoyed. We will definitely be coming back! Parking: Car park on site
First time to the boat and we don't live that far away. Beautiful setting right by the river Dee. Great outdoor seating area and lovely on the sunshine. Staff very friendly and helpful. The decor inside is just so gorgeous. For lunch we had the steak burger and chips and the hog roast bap. Both were so delicious and the burger was nice and juicy. The tomato salsa went well with the burger too. The pork bap with stuffing was gorgeous. Definitely a lovely place to visit and nice and out of the way.
Wow! What a transformation. I've visited the Boat in most of its guises over the years and the current custodians have nailed it. Whilst managing to maintain the cosy, quirky snugness of the original building, they've reconfigured the more modern extensions in a far better way than previous owners. Its stylish, light and flows. I was really impressed with the number of staff working. It meant service was prompt and we were well looked after. I would have happily ordered anything of the menu. As it was, I went veggie and starter, main and dessert were all top notch. I'd recommend booking. It was very busy and will be heaving in the Summer due to the excellent river side seating. Dog friendly
We visited the Boat Inn at Erbistock with local friends from Wrexham. I remember going drinking at the Boat ‘in my youth’ and of course it has the same idyllic, stunning setting on the banks of the River Dee. However, since those halcyon days it has been truly transformed and clearly with significant investment… it is stunning throughout. We were in the bar, very relaxed and chilled. Wonderful menu, excellent food and a special ‘call out’ to the attentive Imogen who looked after us for our four hour stay. Strongly recommend .
The Boat Inn was impressive, my Venison pie was gorgeous and the vegetables very well cooked. The dish should have been served with chips but the staff were very happy to swap to crushed potatoes instead. More importantly as my wife is vegetarian we struggle to find places that have something a little different and who also don't go straight to Vegan either. Her garlic mushroom strudel was very well done and the other dishes available looked interesting. The staff were attentive and efficient too, which is always a bonus. We have added the Boat Inn to our list and will definitely return.
This is a must the lady on the door was so nice and very polite think her mane was Melanie. the beer was great the food was great and the Scenery was to die for. definitely going there again
Amazing Sunday lunch today with lobster on the menu! How special is this to see my favourite main of all time, we coped with getting the meat out of the shell & claws but chef..how about doing this for us next time? Anyway, we give you 10/10 and 5 stars
What a stunning little find in the beautiful Erbistock. Plenty of gorgeous outdoor seating by the river and a calm and tranquil setting inside. Food looked lovely although we didn't eat today and the drinks selection was vast. We will definitely be back
Amazing dinner, beautiful setting and decorated really well. Friendly staff and a great selection of drinks. We had the lamb Sunday dinner and it was fantastic
First visit before our move to Overton in two weeks time. We loved it. Fabulous position by the river. Restaurant very elegant, food superb and staff very friendly and professional. Parking: Excellent and only a short walk away.
