Absolutely loved our visit. Emilie was so friendly and welcoming. Her patience with me really eased my anxiety too! I am rather particular with food and I can honestly say I was blown away by the standard. Divine! Well done chef. Will be travelling the 2 hours drive again next week to take my daughter. Really is worth the drive. The views are stunning and the food is perfect, topped off by the beautiful emilie who goes out of her way to make the experience outstanding ... I cant wait for my next visit. Dietary restrictions: Great choices for gluten free menu. Makes a nice change to have real food instead of feeling like an afterthought
Been two weekends on the run. The very best speedy service, never had to wait too long for a team member, food or drink. Had the roast sharer both times and it was excellent. Not a criticism at all but in hindsight, the duo of meats would be better as we ended up taking the half chicken away with us both times as there's already plenty to share. Weather was terrible both times but it still feels cosy and a great dining experience. Highly recommend, especially after walking in to the chain pub carvery down the road. World's apart. Go to the boathouse!
I like the atmosphere of the boat house, it is very welcoming, cozy and relaxing. With a beautiful view of the marsh and North Wales across the river. The food and service here hasn't disappointed me so far. And the staff are very friendly and accommodating. When the weather is lovely, you can sit outside on the deck area. Or stay indoors in their comfortable setting when it is cold outside. Definitely a place to try if you are in Parkgate.
We’ve met family and friends a few times at the Boathouse. The food is consistently good and the views from the patio beer garden over the RSPB salt marsh are stunning. It’s a great place to sit with a drink and watch the sun go down.Food: 5/5
We had been walking from Neston to Heswall and this was the ideal stop for lunch as I know it very well as I've been coming here for many years and always enjoyed the food and drink here. This pub has a large advantage over all the other pubs in Parkgate as it's built on the seawall side of the road so the stunning views across the marshes to North Wales are completely uninterrupted. You get a choice of menus when you get there, there's the large main menu and the smaller lunch menu that represents very good value for money. Today on the lunch menu I tried out the Pate for Starters and the seafood basket for mains. Both are recommended. They also had a good selection of beers and ales. Service was excellent as always. There is plenty of space in the carpark opposite, but remember to type in your registration number at the bar
Prompt, friendly service and great, reasonably priced food. We were last minute walk-ins on a busy day, were seated straight away on a table with good views and were made welcome. A good location for scenic walks too, will definitely returnFood: 5/5
No booking but no problem. A cracking menu. Pate starter and I had mushrooms. Weren't piping hot but plenty of them. Partner had fish and chips which he said was lovely. My piri chicken wrap was rather bland and the side salad wet through with vinegarette or similar so soggy. Amazing views. Would deffo call again and have something different
Gorgeous food, great service and atmosphere and then there’s the view over the Dee Estuary!! Parking: Car park was busy but we found a space easy enough straight away.
We came in after a nice walk along Parkgate front and dee marshes serves a nice pint of ale called great anvil which is a very smooth ruby red aleService: 5/5
Haven't been in here for a good few years ,but so glad we popped in for some lunch, staff very attentive and sat us straight down to our table ,with amazing views over the Dee estuary, and North Wales, the menu was great with such a big selection to choose from,I ordered the Beef and Ale Pie,and my wife ordered from the Small bites menu ,my pie was hands down one of the best id eaten for a while, pastry thin and so crispy, and the Pie was jam packed full of really lovely tender Beef, comes with pot of gravy, mash and broccoli,my wife really enjoyed her meal too,if your visiting Parkgate then the Boathouse is highly recommended for the food , views, friendly staff, and amazing menu
