Just revisited following a hefty refit at the Blunsdon Arms. We arrived at about 10.30am on a Sunny Monday for a Breakfast. Great refresh. Clean contemporary interior. If my memory serves me correct around £7.99 each for a full English Breakfast. Great sausages! All served within about 15 minutes. Delicious. Will definitely revisit. We've not visited in a few years and so when the warm Spring sunshine appeared I decided to give it a go. A warm, friendly clean interior, but we opted to sit outside on the large patio area in the sunshine. They also have a half dozen open ended covered pods outside where you could sit in a small group of it were raining. A good range of drinks on tap- including to my delight Estrella! Our lunch was hot, fresh and served within about 10 minutes. Would definitely recommend.
Didn't make a reservation for 12.00, there was plenty of space but was busy at 1.00. Staff were friendly and helpful even though they were very busy. Indoor and outdoor eating areas. Good food and real ale and they do delivery's
I had the festive gourmet burger, turkey, my team had the same with beef, and one large children's meal cheeseburger. One of the best burgers I had in the UK so far, eaten mine and sampled the rest, you can taste and smell the grill... Excellent and moist patties, the buns were just right, well done, chips, great. My daughter is usually fussy around food, and takes forever to eat, she ate all of it apart from the bit I stole... The dog didn't get any, she got a snack... All for not much more than McD equivalent... Never will I eat anywhere like that instead of here again.
Very nice pub with reasonable prices and friendly service. Some booths outside to sit wind protected with some infrared heaters for chilled nights.
Good food for an pub Not a fan of english food but The chips were really good, Drinks were good too, Little expensive but a nice vibe and nice night
After a long day we stopped in before our trip back to Wales, we were told a 45 min wait for food it took over an hour this is the disappointing food that arrived the chicken is smaller than an onion ring and only half a mushroom! I was so hungry at this point I ate it, when asked how everything was we explained, this was met with a sorry about that... I won't be returning.
Popped in for lunch as I've not been in since the refurbishment. Staff lovely, the restaurant on the whole looked clean and fresh. The mixed grill was perfect and well presented. Staff checked we were happy with our food, which we were. Great job guys.
The beer was served well, but the food left a lot to be desired. It was super busy around 19:30, so you would expect your food to be fresh, but the fish batter was way over cooked, and tasted like it had sat on a hot shelf for a while. The chips were similar, hard and old, looking around at other customers their food seemed more palatable? I was away working so intended to have a couple of pints and desert. But what I saw going out didn’t warrant the cost! £17.50 for dodgy fish and chips and a beer is a bit much for this area? I would have spent another £15 or so, but chose to leave. Back at the hotel a lady there told me that was one of the better and least pricey places within walking distance, the mind boggles!
I loved it! On a frosty morning I had a quiet brunch here with a good friend sitting in comfy chairs by a roaring open fire. I had the waffles with bacon and maple syrup which was utterly scrumptious! Good quick friendly service too. Only came here because Toby's Carvery was closed but it's Toby's loss because having discovered this place I won't bother with Toby's in future!
First visit to The Blunsdon Arms today Tuesday 25th October - midday with Mum, wife and furry, four legged brother. This is a very nice pub. Clean, dog friendly and great service. The food was everything we could have hoped for. We went for wraps, sandwiches and chips regular and sweet potato. It really exceeded our expectations. This will now become a regular for us for brunch/lunch during the week when visiting Swindon. Highly recommended.
