A very trendy gastropub where the food focus is on quality over quantity. Friendly and efficient service. Not much in the range of real ales, but then real ale buffs are not the target clientele, however there is a good range of other drinks on offer. It is a popular pub/restaurant so booking is recommended. Enjoy. M
First time visiting The Bluebell Inn today. Amazing experience, best place we’ve been for a family meal in a long time. We were very looked after by a lady who I think was part of the management team, right from the moment we stepped into the pub, until the moment we left. The food was amazing too, absolutely amazing. We did have pudding but ate it before remembering to take pictures! Already planning our next visit!…
It was really a very lovely place where everything was correct, but it lacked "that something" I was with friends the other day for dinner and ordered a burger where the composition of the ingredients was great, but it had no sauce on its own and the meat was a bit dry - when ordering I was not asked how I want the patty to be done and I also forgot to confirm it myself. I think I will opt for the pizza next time as it looked very tasty and you could see the clay oven on the entrance. I would also strongly recommend the Orange Hot Choc The staff was very friendly and the garden lovely!
We had a lovely evening meal here. It's certainly changed a lot since I last went here. Without doubt, one of the tastiest looking menus I've seen, I could have chosen anything and been happy. It was so difficult to choose. While choosing we had nibbles of hummus and olives, both tasty. For starter I chose Gobi Manchurian and my wife chose Pulled Duck Pancakes. Both were excellent and my cauliflower was very flavoursome. For mains, I chose Chicken and Chorizo Casserole and my wife Lamb Shawarma Flatbread. They were both very flavoursome and I was very pleased they used chicken thighs in the casserole, which added to the flavour. My only slight criticism was the saffron rice with my dish was overcooked. A minor thing and everything else was brilliant. No pudding though for us as we were absolutely full. I'd definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to come back!
I had a fantastic meal with my wife. We were made to feel very welcome, and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend it.
Just stopped to see how the renovations ended up on a Tues afternoon. Wow, what an amazing job they've done. Outside sitting area is a hidden gem. Had a lovely pizza and a couple of pedigrees.
This pub is about a ten minute drive from our house and is fast becoming a firm regular, we’ve been several times before and spent New Years even here but this particular trip on Friday night was for my partners birthday i mentioned this on the reservation. We both had a cocktail which were delicious and the staff were happy to recommend their favourites, we then both ordered a main, I had the lamb flatbreads and my partner had the ox cheek and they were both amazing! The prices have gone up a little since our last visit so we may have to reserve this place a little more for special occasions but I can’t fault the food or drinks and after we’d finished the manager bought out an ice cream sundae for my partners birthday which was a really nice touch! Would definitely recommend if you’ve not been before!
went for lunch today, the service was very good, all staff were friendly and welcoming, the beef Sunday roast was amazing. Will be back 100% and already recommended to friends/family.
Booked a table for 2 in the bar area. Very close to the next table , if you want a quiet private meal then the bar isn’t for you. Ordered a sirloin steak medium to well done , it was red in inside, peppercorn sauce was to creamy & there wasn’t that much of the meal for the price , 8oz steak, chips and a tomato . Not the best value for money . Fish pie was nice but my wife ordered a side portion of chips & they seemed like they were frozen chips , not hand made. Either way they were not cooked properly. 2 pints of Heineken at £9.90 which is roughly £2 more than my good local, . Yes the surroundings were nice , staff were pleasant enough. Would I come again again? No These pubs turned restaurants are nice to go etc but unfortunately it’s get in as many people as you can & get the food on the table as quick, so more people can come and go. This unfortunately has a effect on the quality of the food . My advice , be a pub , do food but not so much as the quality isn’t there for the price. I feel with the increase in energy. Pubs like this will struggle if the don’t get their act together on hiring enough chefs who have the time to cook quality food
Efficient, friendly service. I went for a brief lunch and had the lamb shawarma, which was delicious and a good deal of meat. Would recommend
