Came here mid week, for the price we couldn’t complain. Been a few times and tried a couple of different meals.nnAll the old fossils giving this place a 1 star need a reality check. Where can you go these days and have a meal for two with drinks for under £25? No where.nnThe app helps with not having to interact with staff, just want to come in, eat and leave.nnGood value for money, warm, comfortable and convenient.
My fiancé and I come here every date night whilst my mum has our baby. There’s more vegan options here than I expected and I’m thankful for that. The food is lush and the drinks are great!!
Came on 13/06/24 ordered 2 brownies they were unavailable and told we would have a refund but never had one.nHowever decided to come again on 01/07/2024 sat on table 55 ordered all day brunch, sausage chips and beans and cheesy garlic pizza.nThe egg was ridiculously under cooked, the beans were cold, the one meal was missing a sausage to which the chef grumbled and moaned about when asked for an extra one, which took ages to come I had already finished eating when it arrived and it was also cold and the garlic pizza was an inedible greasy rubbery mess!nWe would of raised these issues with the manager and/or anyone who did our check back but we couldn’t as we watched the manager clear our check back off the screen and not bother to come over at all, we then sat a further 30 minutes while writing this review and finishing drinks without the table being cleared.nBoth myself and other half work in the same business for another company and wouldn’t dream of sending out food the way we received it or giving the shocking service we received!nI used to work at the showman many years ago and cannot believe how much it has gone downhill!
Lovely little pub! Well done out. Ate here for the first time on Friday and was not disappointed! Great as usual for wetherspoons! Service was so quick. Food came out very quickly. Chicken pasta Alfredo was gorgeous as always, scampi and chips lovely and chicken jalfrezi was really tasty. Would come back to eat again. Drinks are always great too. Lively on a Friday night.
Just stopped by there on a rainy day. Nice pub and famous for the locals. Had a cuppa and took some rest to continue my drive.
