It was an absolute pleasure to go into this weatherspoons. It so shocked me from the outside as I've driven past lots of times and did not think I would be wowed by the interior decor, how the poppers laid out and the event that I was going to have there. I will definitely be back
The place itself is lovely – I understand it used to be a cinema, which is such a shame it isn’t anymore. Unfortunately, the food is terrible, much like at other Wetherspoon locations: cheap meat that tastes as if it was cut and never washed, soggy mushrooms, rubbery eggs, and no brown bread available “We only do white!” was the staff’s reply. The coffee is better than it used to be, and the service is welcoming, which I appreciated. I also like that the venue seems to support the younger community.nnThe toilets are very clean, but the garden area and the outside tables look like they haven’t been cleaned for ages – which is especially disappointing in summertime.nnIt was my first time going in, as I’ve usually avoided it – often after noon there are loads of drunk people at the door, which put me off.
Vacated tables are left with food plates for at least 30 mins. Food left on the floor,even when staff were asked to remove it!. This pub obviously have slack or lack of staff. I cleaned the table with toilet roll and it was black dirt.. . Staff Will not! Look you in the face. Good pub, depends on clientele???
Despite being a regular i came in today and ordered a drink on the app they must have new staff because this one young lad who i never saw before brought me a drink and looked like his dog had just died. I ordered a couple on the app and it was the same person every time. Then a group of girls ordered and he was all smiles. Made me feel like I was an inconvenience, I've come in a few times and had to wait over a hour for staff to clear away plates and glasses from prev customers. I stopped ordering food when they took the mixed grill off the menu, the rest of the food is mediocre at best. Such a shame because there used to be really friendly staff but they've disappeared something clearly isn't right here, don't even get me started on the security on a Friday and Saturday night who just sit there eating and the one guard is only pleasant with the ladies.
Been to a few spoons before and the food is always good and the service but unfortunately I believe the service failed.nThe free refill of Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate as seen in the picture is no longer available for the Hot Chocolate as was told today by a colleague.
