Not first time here but first since the trackman has been installed. Great piece of kit! Choose target, choose club hit the ball ..all recorded. Very easy to use but remember when changing clubs to inform the system!
Chose of full 18 hole course, some lovely holes and some real testers, or if you want to work on your short game the 18 hole par three is excellent for that. Greens are improving on both courses and credit to Blackwood on the condition of both courses. Very rarely closed and reasonabe prices. Highly recommend Blackwood for both experienced golfer and beginner/higher handicapper ‍.
I had Christmas dinner there last night with a party from the Church of the Nazarene The room was lovely decorated The presentation of the food was excellent and tasted delicious We were well looked after by the staff who were more than helpful and friendly Thank you for giving us a lovely night Merry Christmas to all of you
Fantastic facility, cracking courses and facilities for practice. The Top tracer range is great and many professional staff on hand for lessons to help. The courses are great with Temple a good starter and the Hamilton keeps getting better.
Blackwood is a super golf facility. I've used the range several times which is really well equipped with nice new balls and ball tracking technology which makes practice more meaningful imo. The pro is the shop was helpful and welcoming and the shop looked well stocked. I didn't use the restaurant but I did see non golfers heading in which is usually a good sign that it's good quality. The course- I have only played the Hamilton course there is a second course called the temple which is a par 3. The course offered plenty of challenges with hazards, bunkers, forced carrys, blind tee shots and slopes fairways. It requires lots of different shots to get around and is beautifully situated in amongst mature trees. It's very pretty. The reason I haven't gone for 5 stars is that some.of the smaller touches could be improved. The signposting around the course was poor in places. As it was my first time it wasn't obvious how to get from the 8th green to the 9th tee, and even harder from the 9th green to the 10th tee. I had to ask members using the range for directions. Other details such as the flags- these were short and poor quality at their best and some currently in bad condition. They cheapened the look and feel of the course. Finally course conditions - I'm mindful that I played it following a few days of rain, but it does feel that the greens team are a little bilehind on their work. The punched greens haven't recovered well leading me to think they were done a little too late in the season. There was no sign of any sanding program for the fairways which I think would have benefited from a mandatory mats rule when it's so wet. Any criticism is intended constructively. I'll definitely be back in the dryer months and the membership rates look to be very very competitive. I think the club offering for £800 pa is excellent and definitely worth a consideration for anyone in the Belfast area.
Really enjoyable the 18 hole par 3 course. Need to be some signs up to help you with the directions of the next hole.If you have not played here before. ‍
Fairways reasonably firm given rain that is closing other courses. Greens are poor. But its still a good track.
Course in good condition, greens on the slower side and they have flipped the old front and back 9s Good value too at only £15 with a member. Great range to warm up on as well
19 Bistro service is exceptional and food is always excellent. Golf facilities are really great and pro shop has good selection of clothing and equipment.
Staff very friendly. Course was in great condition. It was busy but my son and I weren't held up by others and didn't seem to hold anyone else up.
