Loved the soup but not potato and leek as I know it. Had been mixed with left over scotch broth I think, but tasty all the same. Chicken sandwich was big and bread nice and fresh. Coffees lovely too.

Great coffee and cakes! Some really tasty local Scottish speciality food produce and, although I have so far resisted, a fine selection of beers in the Deli. Genuinely charming people who deserve the growing, loyal, customer base that their endeavours have earned them.

The Black Poppy is a fantastic place to discover in Rutherglen. It certainly isnt a "greasy spoon" cafe but neither is it over pretentious either. The food on offer is very nicely done and well presented. The range varies from home made soups to delicious pates and lots more to boot - all top notch stuff. If you like good quality, good choice and good banter then I would highly recommend you try the Black Poppy.

Absolutely disgusted at the treatment of this fantastic small business by South Lanarkshire Council!!! A huge loss to the community of Rutherglen!!! Shame on you SLC!!! Jane & Michael you will be sorely missed. Xxx

Lovely wee place to sit and relax. Spent my time with a lovely coffee and my journal.  It had a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Very friendly owner, good quality food at decent prices and always freshly made, nice coffee.

Today had a lovely sweet chilli chicken sandwich, and a slice of caramel shortcake, delightful, would highly recommend.
